Good Chard - nothing more. Bright lemony tanginess on the palate. Scores points for steering clear of butter and oak overkill. Just lacks some concentration for a 90+ score.

Nose of wet shale & lemon curd. Viscous, minerals, hint of diesel fuel & flint on medium finish with Creme Brulé. Really opened up as it approached room temp.

First time trying this Producer's Chardonnay. 14% abv, med + body and acidity. This had a tropical nose but not so much on the palate. Not a strong oak presence. lemon, vanilla, and pear on the palate.

This Chardonnay is a quality click above with it being a couple clicks above on the price. The fruit is luscious with just enough acidity. Not a bad choice if you’re looking for something special. Good food match, approachable enough to be a quaffer

This is such a weird wine. I actually am improving my score as I found one last of these in the cellar. Straight up lemon sweetness makes up the aromatic nose. In mouth similar lemon forward notes but bigger with complexity of florals and wet stones in the palette. Judging this wine by "my old standards" of butter is simply wrong. This wine needs to be judged differently. Tonight I loved it.

Open, pour, and taste. Smile, drink again, enjoy. Grateful for the hands that picked the grape and made the wine. Wonder why the bottle is empty. Consider another? We could but I do have to work. Savor it. Ready to drink now.

At the suggestion of another CT User, we selected this bottle to go with our dinner of grilled Walleye. It paired very nicely. IF you like old world Chardonnay, you will like this. While having a distinct oak presence it was crisp without evidence of any secondary fermentation. Lighter in color (medium gold), medium in body, it was nicely balanced and had a lasting pleasant finish of oak and vanilla. The community has this drinking through 2030. I'm thinking it will top out a couple years earlier than this (2028 drink by).

Restaurant pop and pour. Lemongrass, pear, minerality and an absence of butter are the most-striking notes after-the-fact. Was a solid pairing with high-end chinese food.
Have limited experience w B-C but certainly familiar with the name and rep; will have to seek out more of this as its a solid value as well.

Medium straw in color. Medium full bodied, with notes of pink grapefruit, oak and vanilla, and strong minerality. Really nice; some richness with acidity being in good balance.

Light golden yellow in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, lemons/limes & a touch of grapefruit with overtones of floral notes of honeysuckle & minerals, spices, some butterscotch & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Medium body with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of green apples, lemons/limes & grapefruit with minerals, spices, some honey & a hint of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Appears to be readily accessible in its youth although it may develop further with additional aging.

Good wine for summer sipping. On the citric end of the scale with a lot going on.......but, I am not good at describing the taste notes. Only negative......it is not quite up to the WS rating of 93.

Medium straw color. Nose of lemongrass, ripe pear, oak, nectarine and hibiscus. Thin but slow legs show good alcohol and med-full body as evidenced by the pleasant round mouthfeel. Viscous without being buttery with a bright acidity on the front like pineapple without the sweetness. Hint of banana in the middle with a finish of slate (mineral softness) which goes on for a long, smooth and beautiful finish.
I’m a big fan of SRH wines, Chardonnay in particular. While still new world it does lean in on old world style. I’m looking forward already to the five remaining bottles we have. Oh, it paired PERFECT with the grilled Mahi-Mahi.

Reducing my score today. Way to acidic in this bottle and out of balance. Not sure what's going on. Tropical fruits present along with apricot nut but the back end made my eye flutter. The BC are really not my preferred style so my reaction is normal for bright driven Chard's like this one.

I’ll get a couple more if the local shop still has a few, especially @$30. Situated between a slightly creamier, rounded Burgundy satellite & the newer Cali racy style. The muffled lemon curd, orchard fruit pit & mineral/lees, is deftly balanced with a bit more ripeness. Broad appeal, nice. Day 2 Some interwoven grapefruit pith on the finish today …

Quite an excellent chardonnay, especially at its price point in the $25-35/bottle window depending what price you get. The winery retails for $40 but you can find it closer to $30 or slightly less.
Side by side a 1er Fourchaume chablis, this was slightly more round than the chablis, but still acidity and freshness presence. For me a Buy and very solid value.

This was a refreshing take on the modern chardonany style. Slightly more bright but yet with a slight Barrel creaminess. I get white peach, apricot nut, small amounts of tropical fruit, slight lemon and slight lime.

This is a very disappointing bottle of Sta Rita Hills Chardonnay. Extremely dilute and lacking fruit concentration one would expect from a $30+ btl of Central Coast Chardonnay. Not the best showing and I hope it was an off bottle. Better value and quality within the family in Cambria or Diatom.

Clear, brilliant pale-gold color. Aromas of lime zest & fresh quince, jasmine, slate, saltwater taffy and gingerbread spice. Bright and succulent lime and white peach fruit flavors, richly textured with secondary clove and fresh thyme spices, highlighted with oyster shell minerality and fresh white florals. Dense middle palate, taut acidity and fleshy structured depth on a moderately long finish. Very nice.

Tasty $25 California Chardonnay 2021 Brewer-Clifton Sta. Rita Hills. Sharp mid-gold, viscous (14.0 alc.); honey, wine lees, oak, lime, stone fruit nose; low-mid acids; rounding out; balanced, semi-long, semi-lush finish. 16.5/91.
