  • Black fruits, currants, and cassis on the nose and palate. This wine is beautifully balanced and continued to open up as the night progressed. I would wait another 3 to 5 years before opening another bottle.

  • Wow! I really mean, WOW! If there is a benchmark for Cab Sauv, it must be something along the lines of this wine. I dont have a lot of experience with wine but this is about as good as i ve ever had. Amazing. No point in detailing nuances. Read the other reviews. This smells heavenly, is balanced, deliciously dark fruited, and drinkable right now. Dont wait, drink now as i dont know how it could possibly get any better. (But we ve a couple more bottles just in case it does improve.) Enjoy. We sure did.

  • Hold 2-3 and this should be at full potential. Magnificent but raw.

  • Oh my, talk about exceeding expectation, and they were high expectations. Full black fruit, serious layers, lots of tannins - very well balanced tannins. There is a lot of complexity, which would be expected, with spice and earth along with the fruit. Everything is right about this wine, including the long very full finish.

  • Great wine, already in good shape with just a 2 hour decant. Great buy year in and year out. Pitted against a 2018 Adamvs Teres and this was more red fruited, open knitted.

  • Trying a wine like this at such a young stage is eye opening to say the least. If you only have a few of these wait at least 2 or 3 years. If you have a few more than a few-consider opening one simply for the educational experience.
—bottle had been in kitchen wine fridge since early November temp is 66 degrees. I keep that fridge close to temp I like to drink most reds that being 68.
—Opened on Friday 12/16/22 at about 3:00 pm and poured into a decanter.
—one hour later poured into massive Riedel glasses, one for me one for wife. The remaining amount in decanter was poured back into the original bottled and sealed.

Nose was stubborn to be sure but glimpses of flower like mineral aromas fight their way out, subtle but pure. First sip of this wine is a hands on lesson in what it means to be seamless! I have been lucky to have had many different wines in this qualitative arena over the years but this wine has a balance unlike any I’ve ever experienced. I finished my glass in about one hour all the while swirling and drawing air over my palate as I sipped. In this way I was able to help the cassis escape its cuffed state. Thankfully my wife is more patient as hers lasted several hours and she simply would remark “ooh it’s getting better.”
    —Day two
Literally no difference in structure as this wine showed no change in its balance although it opened up a bit more and overall enjoyment improved. Darker fruits on palate and flower scents and a nice cool mineral tinge on the nose as well.
    —Day two and a half
My wife got home later and poured the remaining wine in the big glass again and promptly fell asleep. This is important to note as I don’t know of too many wines that could hold together after approximately 36 hours of air. Not a standard Bordeaux glass either, about a half inch more across the surface area of the wine itself and an additional half inch across at the opening of the glass. At 5:00 am my wife (professional that she is) woke up and went right to work on the remaining third of her glass declaring again “ooh it’s still getting better!”
The great folks at Quilceda Creek are amazing as they could easily rest on past successes and be content making making great wine, but not these guys! Great just don’t cut it! My prediction for this one is legendary!

To kind of quote my favorite wine evaluator on cellar tracker—This may not be a shirtless Vladimir Putin on a Clydesdale but in a few years it could be John Wayne shouting “Fill your hands you son of a bitch”
