Mid lemon colour with strongly aromatic notes of orange peel, lime, citrus blossom and Forelle Pear. Elements of orange leaf, starfruit, lime sherbet and Alpine meadow join the fray. Steely acid on entry packed with zesty notes of lime peel and lemon. An intense wine that is brim-full of fruit and that tell-tale element of toast. Supple textured, with an underlying spicy feel of apples, sprinkled in spices; piercing lemon oil with lime cordial, candied orange, elderflower, citrus peel and a long finish of tonic water - like a gin and tonic!. All this with that quick acidity threading the wine together.

Hunter Valley - 6 Cellar Doors (Hunter Valley): {screwcap, 11%, A$40} The standard hunter offering with some years on it now offers a honeyed nose, with a touch of glue. The way they used to make them; this has aged nicely, with medium acid and body, and aged citric and honey flavours. At peak.

Robe de couleur: Blanc pâle; Acidité très présente; Très corsé; Arômes en bouche: Citron, amande fumer, fleur, zeste, pomme verte, , Long en bouche, complexe, bon accord avec le citron, serait bon avec du chèvre

My 2nd trip to The Sampler (The Sampler, London): Smells quite a lot like an unoaked Chard. Rounded smell of drumsticks, overripe melon and a touch of lemon. Light, though. Very nice on the palate, dense but with high acid (good combo!), tight, a mixture of citrus and sort of weighty tropical fruit. Mouthwatering. Excellent. £11.30, 11.5% abv

The Sampler (Angel, London): Light straw yellow in colour, this wine shows lemongrass, cinnamon and zesty apple on the nose. The palate shows some tropical fruits and a hint of lime, but it's a little flat after the explosion of aromas on the nose.
