This is no Buzz +5. Lots of vibrant blue fruits with spice, especially white pepper, to add interest. A full, smooth wine after an hour in the decanter. Decent acidity--for the variety--along with supportive tannin and no heat. A definite QPR winner. The canonical PS bonus: big fruits and wine geekiness all in the same bottle.

Deep dark color......smooth and creamy, yet still dusty firm tannin. Juicy dark fruit(blackberry, plum, black cherry), strong dark coffee, dried herbs, dusty sweet briary spices. Creamy smooth, yet has a kick with some sour tannin and spice. Some florals, old leather, and white pepper faintly appear. The flavors are complexing and tasty...but mellowed, not intense. Just what you want in a big bruiser, low priced wine...with a little age on it. Foppiano is the King of all Kings in qpr Petite Sirah land in my book!

A really nice PS, not as tannic as Foppiano's Sonoma County offering. Black fruit forward in the nose and on the palate. Nice finish.

Bright electric red. Round aromas of red fruit and briar. Really nice round medium bodied fruit with spiciness on the finish. 11/04
