Significant bottle to bottle variation. After a tasting in 2011 I thought the wine was fine with good balance and a good buy. After a 2019 tasting I thought it unpleasant, very woody, with minimal fruit. The current bottle was fine. it had a touch of wood, a bit of acid but for the most part it was nicely balanced with plum flavor predominating. The wine was dark red. There was no bouquet. I have nine more bottles.

This bottle was unpleasant. It was very woody. Even with a day under vacuum it was unbalanced. A prior bottle in 2011 was much better balanced. The color was dark red with no signs of oxidation. There was no bouquet. The initial flavor was of raw wood with some fruit. After a day under vacuum the woody overtones had diminished and there was more pronounced fruit but I cannot say it was enjoyable.

This was good, but I liked it a little less than the 2006 Chateau d'Avensan, which I also served the same night. This was a bit more muted in terms of fruit.

An excellent find for $12.99 -- there aren't many quality Bordeaux at that price and this certainly is. Medium to full- bodied with an attractive nose. Cherries and black currants, mildly tannic, a good finish, really a charming wine. I bought a case and will buy another.

particles on the cork? Nose: hint of sweat sawdust, treated wood, dark fruit, black plum, musky perfume/cologne. Taste: medium-light body, none offensive. Leather like aftertaste with firm tannin and sourness. Tobacco, leather, tire, raspberry, cranberry. Some herbal notes. Metallic and some rocks. Smooth and wood is faint. Good summer red with light salad, fruits and cheese.

Cherry, wood, and maybe some tobacco aroma's. Medium bodied, more cherry and charcoal on the palate with some earthiness, very nice acidty. Decent wine overall for a Cru Bourgeois bordeaux just don't expect the rich concentated higher end bordeaux. This would be a versatile food wine to match plenty of dishes at a good price.

Aroma features the classic cab pencil shavings, plus notes of mushroom and even a syrah-like bacony aspect. Palate dominated by dark red fruits like cherry and plum. Medium-bodied, easy-drinking. Not the most complex Bordeaux, but quite enjoyable and a steal at $13.

Oxidized. This was a shame, I was hoping that it was decent, and for the price I would have went back for a few more, but now I don't want to take the risk..

Finally found my Bordeaux daily drinker.Just $13 at the PA state store ($16-$24 elsewhere) this is unmistakably Bordeaux. Earth, barnyard, tannins, more subtle red fruit and definitely got some of the bacon/charcoal mentioned by others. It evolved over the evening the way you hope for and strikes me as a steal at $13, a good value at $18, and worth it in the low $20's. I fully intended to see how it did on day two but it was not to be. Case purchase here we come. The avg score does not do it justice in my opinion and though I rarely score wines this gets a solid 89 from me to help boost its rating. Thank you to my cousin for the discovery!

Very nice for the price. Deep red color, good nose of smoked bacon, black fruit. Pleasant. Not very long finish, but solid wine. Enjoyed it as an everyday Bordeaux.

Vibrant red. Lovely blackcurrant nose, charcoal. Medium bodied, the palate is nicely balanced with blackcurrant and blueberry fruit, a lovely freshness and rounded, silky tannins. A wise use of quality oak here, classy. A good effort! Needed time to get there though, decanted 2 hrs. prior to drinking. Good value. 13% alc.

Plum-prune, raisin, and a bit of tar on the nose. Dried cherry, black cherry, graphite on the palate, with a touch of oak and a mouth watering finish.

This wine has a nice balance of fruit, tannin and oak. It tastes like a nicely made Left Bank Bordeaux. It is a remarkable wine for the price.

Good basic Bordeaux at a great price. I would buy more if my inventory weren't spilling over as it is.
