An excellent SB. Has a nice creaminess to the citrus/lemongrass nose and flavor. Fabulous acidity makes for excellent balance. Viscous for a Sauvignon Blanc. 5-12-16-8: 91/100.

Looking back at Mar 2023 note, this has put on weight. Aromas of gooseberry at the top of the glass and pear at the bottom, however it lacks the focused flavor characteristics found in the best Bedrock SB's.

Bedrock recent releases; 10/7/2023-12/2/2023: pale straw with medium body and somewhat ripe notes of mango and melon with subtle herbal whiffs. round and textured in the mouth with richness and weight in the palate and buoyed by good citric acidity. good concentration of fruit accented with spice and moderately long finish.
not of the nervey/tense style of SB. drinking well now but a bit of bottle age should reward the style of this wine.
14.1% AbV; mostly from Uboldi Vineyard (Glen Ellen) with contributions from Judge (Bennett Valley) and Bedrock vineyards; barrel-fermented in a variety of vessels; small amount aged in new French and Austrian oak.

West Coast Wine Tasting at K&L: Really well textured sauvignon blanc. Stone fruit and papaya on the nose, comes across as on the white-bordeaux side of sauvignon blanc. Surprisingly dense on the palate. This is really nice.

Being a big fan of Bedrock Wines, especially their reds, I was delighted to see a Sauvignon Blanc on the shelves of my local mega-wine shop. I’ve probably seen the wine before, but for some reason, this time it made an impression; no, it wasn’t on sale.
Combining a favorite winery (Bedrock) and my love of Sauvignon Blanc, it was easy to see that I would eventually choose this wine to try.
Bedrock Wine Company Sauvignon Blanc 2022
Sourced from three different regions in Sonoma Valley, Uboldi Vineyard in Glen Ellyn tends to contribute the lion’s share followed up by the Judge Vineyard in Bennett Valley and the Bedrock Vineyard. The juice is fermented in smaller barrels with only a fraction seeing aging in new French and Austrian Oak, 22% being new for a continued 6 months.
While the oak influence is present, it is not overpowering. The wine offers flavors of stone fruit and that touch of citrus. There is that seam of minerality running through to the crisp and delightful finish.
I was happily surprised that this wine did not disappoint and shall hold a place among the many Sauvignon Blancs in my cellar, cementing my relationship as a Big Fan of another Bedrock wine.
Yabba, dabba, oh wait, I said I wouldn’t use that anymore.
Cheers

There is nothing wrong with this wine, but we like the Bedrock Vineyard version better. This wine is a typical California SB flavor-wise with excellent mouthfeel, nose, and a lingering pleasant aftertaste. The Bedrock Vineyard showed a broader array of flavors and more complexity hence it was more compelling.

Showing a bit more oak influence than past vintages at this early stage, this has a very pretty tropical fruit profile with a good dash of cream and vanilla. Already quite enjoyable but I think a few months sideways will improve it further. 90+

Popped into a stemless VYCE. Pale yellow color. Classic nose of grass and grapefruit, but maybe a little more ripeness hanging around than a New Zealand version. On the palate similarly classic. Linear like a roll down a bowling lane of citrus fruits, lemon into pink grapefruit, but with hints of richer things like pineapple and cream looking on. The finish is all grass with just a hint of that fruit. It’s pretty long on the finish, but agree with the below note that a touch more acid would make this more interesting. As it stands, I think this would become flabby in a year’s time. It’ll be a great summer porch pounder though

Probably open this way too early but hard to hold off. Slightly less acid then I was looking for, more fruit like papaya or mango, when I was hoping for green apple. Still have half a case left, will wait a bit to see how they evolve. At the end of the day, though, still going to buy again next year

Just delivered, and tastes young. Bedrock SBs usually have a crystalline quality to them, so hopefully will put on some weight and flavors become less muddy with time.

Oaky Sauv Blanc. Full flavor. Different spin but roots of it is still Sauv Blanc.
