Slow O'd 4 hours. On the positive side, the wine is not dead, it is still drinkable with some life left. The wine is subdued and very well intregrated. There's kind of a hollow fruit quality to it, there isn't much minerality or any kind of rocky taste that you get from Burgundy. I've 8 Arcadian pinots left that I've purchased from the winery. I wish one of them would be a great bottle....

Pop and pour, drank over an hour. This is very much Burgundy. Not terribly complex, a fair amount of funk, earth and sour cherry. I have a bit of a cold right now, so that could be skewing it.

We had this again with pan grilled veal chops. Much better bottle with notes of spice and a far silkier mouth feel. Diana still gets a touch of green stemminess but much less pronounced .An earlier bottle might have been a bit flawed as the green notes overwhelmed the other aspects. This is almost 10 years old and has finally reached a nice (personal) drinking window. I feel I may have consumed some Arcadian pinots a bit too young as most seem to need a minimum of ten years.

PnP. Very similar to my note from 2011, but is showing some nice evolution. The green (orange peel) streak is not evident to me anymore, the earth and spice are a bit more to the fore. A little softer texture, almost satiny, with medium weight now that fruit not competing so much with edgy tannins. Acid is right on. Sadly, this is my last bottle as I think this has several years to go. Night 2: cloves galore (Teaberry gum) and 'green' orange peel emerged, pushing the overall experience up a notch or two. Will decant next time.

P&P'ed. Very light looking but not light in flavor/aroma. This thing is packed with incense, cinnamon and that "Vosne spice" thing. Confused? check here - http://wineberserkers.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=975 Fantastic straight from cellar to patio with burgers with feta cheese.

PnP. Violet-tinged garnet. Nose of cherries, cloves, earth and a definite green streak that was pleasing and integrated (this may have been the orange peel that others referred to, but it leaned to green for me and Nancy). Medium weight red fruit, with good acidity, some mineral and background complexity. Its lightness 'of being' while possessing some depth makes me think this will become more interesting in couple of years.

14.0% alcohol. Red cherry color. Distinctive nose of minerals, red cherry, a touch of orange, and floral notes. In the mouth, linear and racy, with strong red fruit that immediately gains support from earth and floral notes. Strong dose of acidity and some fine tannins on the pleasant finish. Maybe not the most concentrated of the Arcadian lineup, but it's lovely and perfectly balanced. A-

Opened and poured, this wine shows two distinct aromatic personalities. At time the bouquet offers red cherry, cinnamon and orange peel notes. During this stage, the aromatics are subtle, nuanced and pretty; however, at times the bouquet shifts, showing bug spray and stem notes that detract from the overall quality of the wine. The medium bodied palate shows tart cherry notes with subtle tannins. Hopefully a year or two of bottle age will resolve the bug spray and stem qualities in the aromatics.

Californian Pinots at Troquet with Kathleen Inman (Boston): A bit of strange funk on the nose at first that clears with air to show red fruits and floral aromas. Bright cherries and red berries on the palate, well balanced with decent acidity but not particularly interesting to sit down with.

P&P'ed. Very light colored, almost pink. Light to medium bodied, but extremely aromatic. Cloves, earth, licorice and cherries on nose. Very balanced and smooth on palate with sour cherries and a bit of forest. At the moment the aroma is better than the taste.
2nd night: Asian spices, cloves on nose. Ditto on palate and nice long finish. Very nice wine. Paired very well with pasta primavera with spicy peppers.

Not much a note but this is a very nice wine and a great value. Lots of bright fruit. Solid amount of tannin. Right now they are a bit bitter. The wine still needs 3-5 years IMO.

Not the finest Arcadian I've ever tried, but a pleasant, straightforward, easy drinker for a hot summer afternoon. Solid red cherry-focused on the nose, but needs some air, which ultimately brings around a layer of spice on the palate. A bit too heady on the alcohol for me. Frankly, I think Chris Blacklidge's prior note on CT nailed it in every particular.

14% alcohol...initially a shy nose...needs decanting... Nose of bright cherry and some spice... Medium-bodied, strawberries, cherry, not very complex, but what i see as a pleaser, everyday Pinot to consume without the guilt it might turn into something else! At $40, not sure this really offers good QPR.
