Day 1 was really nothing special. Quite chaulky, spicy, not much fruit, a touch bitter. I tried it again a few days later and it was about the same. Then I forgot about it for a week. Upon revisiting, it had morphed into a pretty decent sauternes. Nectarine, honey, still spicy chaulky borytis, but it more complete this time. I may not have given this bottling enough credit - I thought I should drink them up but clearly they still have more to tell.

A nice enough midrange Sauternes. The typical honey, apricot, almond are all here. Not super sophisticated, doesn't have the botrytis notes at the front, but it was pleasant with sorbet and tuile cookies.

Popped and poured. It's definitely a few steps down from a good vintage and a good Sauternes house. Lacks finesse and is a little too sweet. I will give my remaining 2 bottles a couple years before trying again.

Honey and apricot jam on the nose. The taste has honeycomb, apricot jam and pineapple actually reminds me quite a bit of the Macallan Marmalade if you were to melt it down into a liquid. It's not cloying like alot of ice wines but still pretty sweet. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied, enough to coat the tongue and not feel like water but not enough to feel like syrup.

90% Semillon, 8% Sauvignon Blance, 2% Muscadelle. Bouquet of tropical fruit. Flavors of honey and apricot. Medium body, would be exceptional and more complex if allowed to age appropriately. A lovely wine.

Dark golden color verging on amber. Incredible nose of honey, candied apricots, pineapple and sugar cane. Really nice. Gobs of honey and tropical fruit on the palate with a coating mouthfeel and loads of residual sugar. Sweet but not cloying. Finish is smooth and long. This is an outright steal of a sauternes for the money.

Very simple but delicious sauternes. Loads of tropical fruit flavors (pineapple, coconut) along with mild honey on both the nose and the palate. A little flabby on the mouthfeel but an enjoyable sweet finish. Nothing special but a solid entry level sauternes for those weeknights where you don't want to open something more expensive.

Much better on this tasting. Golden yello color. Nose of apricot, pineapple, and manago. Flavor of honey, dried apricot. Still a little disjoined but coming together, may have been bottle shock.

Breathe in the dried apricot. Slurp the mixed stone fruit. Linger with the candied orange peel.

Today's Bordeaux (W Hotel, Chicago IL): nose: really pungent nose of apricot, honeysuckle, melon, and some caramel. Wonderful botyrtis filled nose
taste: great viscous feel on the palate of honeysuckle, apricot, melon, and caramel with some honey bits thrown in too
overall: really nice and balanced with a nice and long finish that is very enjoyable. A really nice sauternes find
