Though the drinking window has long passed, I find this wine in great shape! Lemon oil, grass and tangerine on the nose and in the mouth...delicious! Another happy mistake of waiting "too long." I think this has another year in it at least. Too bad it is my last.

Dinner at The Melting Pot. Although I really enjoyed this wine, it seemed to get a little lost in the fondue. Notes of starfruit, grapefruit, and lemon rind. Crisp flinty finish.

Winery Visit - Although JPV is most known for its Reds, their whites were impressively subtle and well crafted. This wine was lively, brilliant with flecks of gold in the apperance. Pear and caramel notes on the slightly restrained nose. The palate was again restrained with a nice balance and well integrated acidity. A hint of sweetness and vanilla were noticeable from the oak, but the oak is so well integrated into this wine, superior to any california sauvignon blanc and oak effort I have experienced. There was quite a long finish with lingering mango. A remarkable effort, a great deal of care went into crafting this wine.

Light green yellow color leads to a nose of melon and flint. The flavor spectrum is rather muted with hints of lemon, melon, and honeysuckle peaking out. A lovely acidity dominates the finish. While not a bad bottle of wine, it is a bland one.

Aromas of vanilla custard, honeydew melon, grapefruit, and starfruit. Palate matches the nose with the addition of the tanginess of unripe green grapes. Medium acidity and good length. Crisp finish. Just a very nice summer sipper, which I paired with a tasty plate of sliced Taylor's Gold pears and jalapeno Havarti cheese.

Fell through the cracks and received more maturation than I like in Sauvignon Blanc. Nonetheless, quite impressive.

Restrained nose, but great acidity on the palate. Melon on the front end, finishing with mango. Still surprisingly good.

Surprised by the medium bodied style of this SB. More chardonnay like than any other SB we have sampled. No grassiness or weediness, very atypical

Not what I had expected. Bland and not very varietal Sauv Blanc. Bad bottle?
