I have been enjoying MacRostie Chardonnays since the 2004 vintage. They consistently punch above their weight class. This is a smooth and enjoyable Chardonnay.

Light golden yellow in color. Forward, fragrant & attractive nose of ripe fruit aromas of apple, lemons/limes & slight tropical fruit notes with overtones of minerals, some butterscotch, stony, spices & a hint of oak/vanilla. Medium-light bodied with a good concentration of balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of apples, lemons/limes & some tropical fruits notes with minerals, some butterscotch, stony, spices, a touch of oak/vanilla. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present & may develop further with additional aging.

I bought this one for the "value" part of my inventory.......based on a 92 rating in WS. It lives up to that rating and is a great value. It is on the crisp end of the Chardonnay spectrum. It makes a great summer sipping wine. I am glad I bought a full case.

This is really good for the money. Day 2 and cold, initially strong tropical notes on the nose, pineapple and coconut. I’m a little concerned, but as it warmed in the glass almost muting for a moment ,some chalkiness, some stoniness and more citrusy notes revealed itself. Still fruit forward and certainly new world, but this is fairly complex especially for the price point and most definitely an ideal quaff! Great cellar defender too , to protect whimsical consumption of the Aubert or burgundy bottles!

Medium to deep gold. Notes of vanilla, oak, and pink grapefruit. Juicy. Great value for the price.
