again crumbly cork....but no sign of seepage or heat damage. let open in the bottle over an hour or so....spice, fruit, menthol, more fruit....integrated and a bit changing...but very good.

let breathe many hours 3+ and it changed constantly...cork crumbled, blue cheese mold nose to begin...some bricking...over an hour mold nose disappears, and color deepens. first glass is cough syrup with a bit of spice, disjointed. last glass has cherry core, menthol, is much better...I'll let my last one age a couple of more.

A strong showing against some serious competition. Wonderfully spiced, dried red fruits, purple florals, and a dusting of brown sugar on the nose. It's spicy with a citrus twang on the palate along with concentrated red berries, saturating spice and minerals. The finish is long and saturating to the senses. Berries, berries and more berries.

A complex nose, of waning black fruit and horesaddle and olives. That palate is balanced and it has a medium plus acidity. Rare to have such a black fruit dominant wine witn such a high acidity, interesting.

JB at Fernando's House: purple to black wine. ripe with good tannins. good acidity in the middle. missing something - perhaps a bit muted/muddied fruit. Good but not shining.

Lots of sediment so required decanting but it didn't take a long time to open up. This is the oldest vintage of AF I have tried yet. Left me slightly disappointed as the younger bottles I've had left me expecting much more from this bottle. I thought the fruit was a bit muted (or is it on the way down?). Still an elegant and restraint example of Argentinian Malbec.

Decanted for 2h. I'm a big fan of this wine. I think It's top 3 in South America. I'm not sure if this bottle had some issues. The cork was perfect. Wet dog funk will not go away even after the 2h decant. Sour and bitter at the end. It felt like the wine was dead but it did not show too much brick color or signs aging. Like I said might be a bad bottle. I have one more in the cellar will know soon.

Dinner with Jesús Barquín at Fernando's "En Español": Deep ruby/black color. Floral nose with blackberries, spicebox and tobacco. Full bodied on the palate with good presence. At the mid palate there's a taste of caramel that is intriguing. Still youthful tannins.

Diep rood, mooie ingetogen geur, licht fruitig, wel rijp en compleet, klassieke school, smaak is verfijnd en toch krachtig, tekenend voor de balans in de wijn, komt nog jeugdig over, wijn presenteert zich heel mooi en lijkt nu op top niveau, kan ook nog wel even mee

Deep ruby color. Superb nose of wet earth, black licorice, wild blackberries and cherries and red licorice as well. On the palate, this explodes with a burst of ripe fruit, tobacco, spices and earth. Still maintains nice acidity and a strong wall of tannin. Drinks beautifully now, but could leave another 3-5 years. Wonderful.

Diep paarse kleur, geur in het begin wat gesloten, later kwam de wijn helemaal los, bramen zwarte bes, rijpheid,pepertje en ook wat chocolade, Smaak is soepel en aangenaam. mooie structuur, wat frisheid en ook wat zwoels. mooie balans zoet zuur, zachte rijpe tannines en duidelijk de soepelheid van mooi houtgebruik. Heel aangenaam, prachtig cool climate door de hoge ligging van de wijngaard.
