  • Just decanted. The nose has aromas of baked black and fresh red cherries, garden herbs and a kick of spice as well as obvious wood. Medium-light bodied, this is on its last legs, but still a joy. Red and black cherries, some spice and a hint of menthol. 89

Edit: Fell apart quickly, so make haste!

  • Some browning tinge to a medium to dark red color with a lovely Pinot nose & a complex medium body with a moderately long aftertaste. 4.0/5.

  • This is fundamentally a lovely medium bodied mature Burgundy having plenty of quite rich red berry fruit left after nearly 30 years in addition to forest floor, discreet minerals, moreish acidity, silky texture and resolved tannis. For a full review, with which I concur, I commend Jonne's TN which is well worth translating. However, I don't find "brett" or "rustic" as reported by Bon Vivant; bottle variation? This elegant mature bottle of Beaune would rate at least 92 points but for a question mark about a faint cardboard aroma especially on the nose, which could be a trace element of TCA. It was not enough to spoil enjoyment, let alone discard the bottle, especially as Germaine, usually trigger happy with complaints about TCA, commented "what a beautiful wine"! Maybe I'm confusing Jonne's "mushroom" with TCA but no rating.

  • Extremt charmigt och bärigt dag ett. Sedan har bären ersatts av mer multna löv och svamp. Vann inte på luftning och tappade någon poäng där.

  • The wine was a bit murky but proper color considering the age. Aged red fruit with some old world funk and bret dominating upon opening. Rustic with fair amount of old book leather and tobacco although with some air more sweetness came forth. Overall this was in great condition considering the age, could have easily though it was 10 years or so younger. On the more sauvage end of the Burgundy spectrum but still enjoyable. I would recommend consuming if you have this.

  • Purchased from Domaine. Ruby with crushed red fruit and dried pot-pourri nose. Crushed, dried cranberry palate with sweet tightness jazzing the fading fruit. Good now but will be great with bottle age. These Domaine purchased 1990 Morot’s rock!

  • Light garnet and a bit murky. Roasted cherry and spice nose. Silky-smooth palate, still fresh with bright acidity. Certainly past its prime, but hanging in there! 89

  • Really nice. Classic nose of red fruits, clove, some earth. Seemed rather young actually. Tart red fruit dominant with some light black fruits, light earth and some green. You can tell it was a hot year. Medium body, solid tannic structure, and lower acid on the tongue. This easily has 5 years, and based upon this bottle, it will probably be good in 20. I think it has room to improve.

  • Dinner with the Boys (Bistro Pastis): Tasted blind. Brief notes. From magnum. Classic maturing Burg nose with sweeter red fruits, clove and cinnamon notes. Ripe and maturing red fruit on the palate with good acidity and length. Drinking well now especially from mag.

  • Dinner at Maureen's (Washington, DC): Very nice red florals, dried tobacco, subtle herb notes and dark fruit. The palate was elegant and balanced with a core of red fruit, a molasses note and subtle spice notes. The palate was incredibly silky and the tannins weren't noticeable. Drinking very well.

  • This was a very nice bottle of mature burgundy that came Ex Chateau. All the classic notes of soft mature red fruit with some earthy touches. A quick decant & it was ready for service. Not a meditational experience but a pleasant drinker. Ready to drink -do not see more potential here.

  • 3cm fill, cork was in good shape. Beef bouillon, musky brett, over the hill or maybe improperly stored? Fell apart in the glass in 20 minutes.

  • Deep blood red, fairly broad paler rim with some browning. Modest legs. Rich, intense and complex nose, basically meaty, with bright red fruit overtones and a touch of deep rich spices (cinnamon, nutmeg). Full-bodied, good forward acidity and fresh red fruit in the mouth. Good length of spice and red fruit on the finish. Very enjoyable wine, at its peak. 17/20 (13%)

  • Mid garnet, some browning at the edge. Slight caramel falvours. Reasonable red fruit with an array of secondary characteristics. Slightly sweet on the entry, then good acidity to balance. A little one dimensional. For my palate this was better three or four years ago when it had more fruit and a velvety texture. Thining a bit now but still ok - needs a bit of thought and concentration.
