Opened a bottle and it was bad. Not corked, just bad. These have been cellared in my cellar straight from the winery. Opened a second bottle which was very different and quite drinkable, but very underwhelming. Decent weight but yet not much flavor and uninteresting. Other ‘09 from Washington are drinking much better at this point.

My last one. Enjoying it while watching the Super Bowl and eating snacks and ribs. About the same as prior bottles several years ago. No reason to hold it any longer. I may post again tomorrow when I finish it. Or not.

Well structured, tobacco, leather notes with a wonderful medium finish and legs for days. This has aged so well and while it will not improve, it still has a few years left.

Very dark red/garnet color. PNP, drank a glass over 3 hours. Last had this 3 & 1/2 years ago. Definitely has evolved from there. Dark fruits, black and blue nose, dried wood, a little green note, vanilla; then it develops a deep damp earthiness that really gives this more character and interest. The palate shows raspberries, chocolate, plenty of vanilla, spice and wood with same herbal streak, finishing very long and ripe. This was considerably better after a couple hours; though it did not hold up the next day. 92+pts.

Nose more like a California syrah, with notes of black pepper and smoky oak. Black and red fruit fading a bit, smooth tannins, and some decent acid. Lingering finish, nice.

First taste of Corliiss ever. Pretty impressed and reasonable deal around $70. Round and full bodied, with tannin under control and good flavors. Will get better.

Lovely cab. Limited tertiary development, but super well balanced right now with blackberry & currant fruit along with lavender and mint. This should last a while and I'm inclined to hold my remainder while checking on the 05 that's lurking around here somewhere.

New Years Eve (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Very dark red/purple color. Decanted for 3 hours. Dark fruits, black currants, blackberries, dried wood, chocolate on the nose. The palate is more interesting than the nose. There's a nice mix of black fruits with a touch of blueberry; gravelly, dried wood, coffee, firmish tannins. The wood is still there and the tannins as well. This was holding up 2 days later. This can go longer and may improve marginally.

Poured from Coravin. Nose was shallow. On the palate, the flavors were likewise shallow. I didn't let it breathe very long, and perhaps that would help. Still a tasty wine. But I was hoping for more than "good."

Big, chewy and fruit forward...this Cab has dark, blackberry fruit that has terrific secondary flavors of cassis, leather and dark chocolate. Absolutely requires an hour plus decant for its tannins to calm but this is ready to drink and enjoy.

3 hour decant had this Corliss treat drinking beautifully. Matched perfectly with a rib cap drenched in a wild mushroom sauce. Leather and chocolate and dark red fruits with a terrific mouth coating finish.

Similar notes to last bottle. However, this one really did not start coming into its own for about 3 hours. Really need to sit in decanter and glass to soften. Big and Beautiful.

Great wine and very consistent with Corliss for me - which also trends a bit one dimensional - loads of dark fruit and paired wonderfully with grilled steak. I caught a hint of a tertiary note towards the end of the evening. Overall very enjoyable!

Exceeded expectations. This had a Cali style softer approach than the big bold NW cabs that I've come to expect. Soft, ripe red berries up front followed by cedar and vanilla. Very long on the palate with rich texture.

Dinner at Margaux's Table (Margaux's Table, White Bear Lake, MN): Very dark purple red color. Unknown prep, drank 1 glass over an hour. Very big, cassis, alcohol, oak, blackberry liqueur. The palate is fairly inky, full bodied, blackberry syrup, cassis, borderline candied fruit, lots of spice and pepper on the finish with some heat. Not a style I really enjoy, just too over the top. I'm sure fans of the style will like this much more.

Dark red in color, nose of vanilla, black and blue berries and limestone dust. On the palate still young with good grip, sweet fruit, and woody with some alcohol. Will benefit from additional bottle aging

Beautiful nose of deep ripe plum and some floral notes. After about 45 minute decant the wine had a soft mouthfeel, classic cab notes, rich black fruit yet earthy with a nice medium to long finish. Glad I have more.

extreamly tight on first night, and quite frankly, this improved each of the two nights thereafter, but it never really truly opened up. Beautifully structured, with length to spare. Very very dark.

Popped and poured. Dark fruit, full bodied, long finish. This wine is very young and should put on more weight with time. I opened this accidentally but do not regret it. I will wait 2-3 years before I open the next one.

Remarkable complexity of tar, tobacco, dark fruit. Underlying structure is firm but even, and not overdone. This will age beautifully for 10-20 years. Will be much better if aged further before drinking
