Extremely rich. Dry, med- acidity, full body, pronounced intensity and long finish. Aromas of pepper, eucalyptus, mint, lavender, black berry, cedar. Good balance. Not my style but technically a very good wine. Points based on the latter.

Black fruits and tar on the nose. Somewhat monolithic on the palate. Huge structure. Decanted for 2 hours. Tannins seemed to soften after another hour in the glass. I would wait another 3-5 years based on this bottle. Great potential!

Menthol, blackberry, sweet and big but not heavy. High tannin and acidity, beginning to soften. Still young and tangy on the tongue. Medium + finish and complexity.

Excellent shiraz with great balance and structure. The tannins are firm and refined, the acidity integrated and the length is good. Very nice with some room for further development and a long future.

Gosh this is pleasant ; what an unexpected mouthful of lovlieness.
Pretty tannic still but with areal sense of place , of authenticity; a wine that says this is where I am from, like it or lump it.
I have never had this wine before so liking it was a complete surprise. Something good is going on in the vineyard and cellar .Plummy , figgy flavours somehow merge into something much nicer than either .
I can't even remember where , when or how much on purchase ; it must be a bargain though surely ?
No formal notes. PnP with steaks. I'd go all full wine note writer, but I'll say that while this wasn't the best Jasper Hill it was excellent. Plenty of lush red fruit, tannin structure and a beautiful nose marred only by a hint of green.

A complex , structured wine. Had typical Heathcote fruit elements with blackberries, blueberries and plums, though these are muted. Along with this comes spices, particularly cloves, and some earthy elements. Medium to full bodied, a good acid backbone with the tannins slightly on the coarse side. The wine is still firmly in the primary phase so has many years to go. The fruit is very muted, and for some will lack desired sweetness, but it sits in a space that I like.

10x20 Victorian Tasting (Customs House, Sydney, Australia): Plum, liquorice, chocolate and some light vanilla oak on the nose. The palate is densely fruited but it has the structure from tannins and supporting oak to balance it out. Need some more time to come together and soften a bit, another 5-6 years perhaps.

Dinner in Vienne (Restaurant La Pyramide): Dark colour. Full bodied, sweet chocolate, kirsch and cake tones in the nose and palate. Attractive wine. Needs some more time.

Fairy sweet, black, plummy fruit with some salami notes, but with some restraint. On the palate, it feels a pretty straightforward shiraz to me. All correct. Some good depth. Lots of pepper on the finish. But I don't understand how it warrants the £35-£45 price tag.

Heavy crust, pours clear. Usual Jasper Hill nose of blackberry and musk. On the palate, more musk, with redcurrants, berries and some beef stock.

This is a touch over the hill. Starting to get into the stewed fruit aromas. Should have opened several years ago.

Powerful fruit, smooth and tender but rich in tannins. Warm but not overheated for a Aussie Shiraz.

Spicy, forward and delicious with a classic Jasper Hill mix of American oak, sweet fruit, and curry spice, all lifted by medium+ acidity.
