Had for birthday dinner with cheese plate. This thing has the acidity, cut and personality to shine with anything. It's the wedding guest you seat at any table - particularly the one where you're not sure if everyone would otherwise talk to each other. Perfect conversationalist, fun, exciting but not overbearing.
Slight pink/copper hue, elegant power, acidity and precision. One of my favorite champagnes (or wines) at any price.

Comte Lafon 1ers (La Trompette, London): Lovely, slightly coppery hue in the Bereche mould. Quite full and rich but not overdone. A touch of apricot on the nose. Lovely balance and length. This is good. ****

Lovely showing. The ripe vintage beautifully balanced by Collin's style. Just had as an aperitif so hard to judge but look forward to opening other bottles soon.

Followed 02 Salon at vegetarian dinner and actually held its own / made sense in the context. Remarkable. This was less copper than I recall, and had an almost-creaminess. Love, love, love it

I little bit disapointed, not a bomb like selosse, not really elegant and fruity, you taste the BdN notes of bread crust, years and toast, the fruit is in the background as strawberry and raspberry, good acidity. I will visit him in 2 weeks and will try his hole range. I'm excited to degustate his older vintages.Middle long finish. 89-89

Disgorged 3/14. Delicious, rich, bone dry. I prefer Pierrieres but this was wonderful and on another level compared to earlier vintages I've drunk of Maillons.

Liked this a lot; lots of bright citrus and red fruited flavours here with more savoury leesy, crackery and yeasty accents that keep developing with air. There's a chalky mineral undercurrent beneath the fruit, and good acidity keeping it very lively on the palate. I'm a fan.

Light copper/salmon color. Intense aromatics of raspberry and cherry fruit. Ripe and rich in the mouth with good balancing acidity. Finish is pure ripe red cherry. As pure red fruited as any Blanc de Noir I can recall. Really impressive - would love to try this in a less overtly ripe vintage as well. Disgorge 7/3/13.

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite champagne producers and the Maillons is a truly unique bottling. There is a jagged rockiness in the texture through and through. But from the way this rockiness feels on the palate itself, very much like a mousse covering the upper part, you know this came from red grapes. This rockiness does not present itself as crisp in the way a BdB might, but is more earthy, tasting as though the metals in the earth themselves are paying you a visit. There is something very Red Burgundy about it. A tremendous wine, and the best bottle that I've had of Collin's BdN, yet.

Belle robe cuivrée, nez sur l’orange et le citron, bouche avec des arômes de poire, de citron, de silex et légèrement de pomme. Bulle fine et belle acidité. Un bon vin, mais va-t-il s’améliorer en vieillissant ?

New Year Celebration; 12/31/2013-1/1/2014: At the moment this wine is still to young. It shows a tremendous potential and is a truly excellent BdN. I will wait for at least another 2-3 years before opening the next bottle.

Small grower Champagne tasting with Munskänkarna, featuring some of the new generation of growers (Stockholm): Œil de perdrix colour, i.e., almost rosé. Powerful nose, peach, wild strawberries, red apples, some herbs, some perfume, oak. Powerful on the palate, red apples, noticeable mineral, some spice, a hint of tannin, aftertaste with apple. Rather young, 92(+) p. A very powerful and vinous Champagne in my taste! Disgorged 7 March 2013.

Mini-BYO with four Champagnes (Stockholm): Deep colour for a white Champagne, almost a bit in the rosé direction, i.e. œil de perdrix. Nose with ripe pears, apple compote of red apples, spice, white currants, some wild strawberries and forest berries, some oak, and after a while notes of citrus and red Burgundy emerge. Quite dry on the palate with ripe pears, peach, apple, quite concentrated, a hint of herbs, a hint of perfume, noticeable spice, powerful minerality, high acidity. Fully approachable now - surprisingly enough - but could probably improve a little more with developed notes. 92(+) p.

(Mostly) Rieslings at Lan Sheng (Lan Sheng, NYC): Much more forward and friendly than the '08, which I recall being rather austere and grumpy at this stage. There's a core of exuberant red fruited flavours here framed by vivid mineral and yeasty notes, and the effervescence and sharp acid spine here keep it very refreshing. Lovely.

Turned out very good for such young champagne, magic!
Complex, full bodied but not oaky. Backed bread, almond, strawberry with long finish.
I feel regret opening this bottle because shop told me no more for sale...

Blancs de Noirs Growers Champagne Tasting (Restaurant Carlton, Zürich, Switzerland): Tasted blind, base 2009 Deg. 2012: Light salmon in color. Nose of quinches, strawberry and flowers. Very fine 'bullets' and nicely balanced. Long and elegant. Still on the young side and I expect more to come in a few years. Wait - 2016.
