Last bottle from a case over the years. I have always thought this vintage of LBP was more Medoc-like than typical Pomerol. Garnet in the bowl, very slight amber rim is starting. Cherry and cedar in the nose, it needs a little time after a decant because the nose always seemed muted at first by chalk. In the mouth, red cherries, and watercress with a hint of oak. Tannins are resolved, well-balanced, medium-long finish. No bitterness. I will miss this wine, an "Old Reliable" whenever I needed a decent bottle for a steak dinner.

Lovely, classic Bordeaux drinking beautfiully now. Cassis, plum, some smoke, and vanilla on the nose. Palate is full and round with good structure coming from ripe, polished tannins without any of the toughness, leatheriness, or bitterness on the edges that Bordeaux sometimes has. The oak is present, yet is well integrated. Good fruit flavours, but not particularly deep or complex. Still, lots of basic wine drinking pleasure in a very well crafted, delight to drink package. Probably close to its peak now, but has enough structure to drink well for the next 3 - 5 years.

Deep, clear color with no bricking. Exuberant blackberry and plum nose. Very full and velvety. Soft texture with good mid-palate. Delicious indeed. In a very good spot right now.

Nice wine. Not much of a nose, but the palate has decent weight, nice dark fruit with nice secondary flavors in the back. Everything is subbtle, but balanced and integrated. Drinking very nicely. Will keep but probably not get much better.

Mostly underappreciated by the general public, this continues to be one of my favorite Bordeaux. A great wine for the vintage, and remains youthful and vibrant. Smoke, earth, tar, and mineral on the nose. Palate is sour cherry, blueberry, stone, and meaty. Long and deliberate finish.

Although the color shows signs of bricking, this wine still hasn't hit a secondary phase and has plenty of tannins left for a longer haul. The somewhat faint nose of espresso and mocha led to an indistinct palate of earth & minerals, with fruit all but dissipated.

Drank with Thomas and Jörg. Deep color out to the rim. Very juicy nose of black fruits, a bit of tobacco, hint of tar. Great on the palate; hit all the spots with a good middle. Seems to be at the beginning of peak plateau. Lovely wine.

Deep, dark ruby in color. Nose smacks you across the face with espresso. The espresso-dominated nose, with extra time in the glass, eventually gave way to toasted oak (a left-over from the espresso), plum jam and mocha notes. The wine has some nice structure with acid and fine, silky tannins in sync. This is drinking well now and I doubt it is going to get any better, but we will see. My previous notes for this wine indicated much more noticeable tannins, but those are well-integrated now. Time to start drinking this one!

From 375ml - Healthy dark purple color in the glass indicates that this wine has plenty of life left. On the nose there's some fruit, some toast, and a piercing note of vanilla at the end. Still a bit stern in the mouth and while full up front, it narrows a bit and finishes a little hollow. An enjoyable wine, and probably would have shown better paired with some grilled cow, but not a particularly good value.

A delightful, extremely well-priced (good to be eating at the restaurant of the owner) and well-structured Pomerol at Le Pan, Hong Kong.

At its peak, this is very open and balanced. This will not improve.

Lovely blackcurrant nose on decanting, but inadequate fruit thereafter. Probably 1-2 yrs past it's peak

Cassis and cedar on the nose. Rich cassis palate.
Mature but will hold a few years.

VG. Much better than the previous bottle. which I probably opened it too early (in 2008).
