Very similar to the last bottle opening 2 years ago. Heavy blackberry nose. Smoke and tobacco jump out of the glass. Fruit is strong, just enough to stand up to it all. Finish is a bit bitter.

Dark ruby with purple tinge. Dark ripe fruit, smoke, grilled meat, floral highlights. Sweet black fruit, big but not overly sappy. Solid and not overdone for the region.

the fruit was really ripe and beautiful, the body was generous and the finish sweet. There wasn't much in the way of complexity, but what was there was perfect.

Could easily be 90 depending on what you like. Really good, maybe a bit too accessible for some, hides nothing, good fruit, bit sweet, very approachable crowd pleaser kind of wine with enough of a distinctive taste and style that you know some thought went into the making of. I am ordering a couple of more bottles.

PnP. Nice full Aussie Shiraz. Good fruit nose and powerful on the palate. Thick with some alcohol- subtly tequila like (must be those agave plants they grow in Oz). Enjoyed it for what it is.

opened and poured through the venturi, leather, pepper and dark berries on the nose, deep dark rich color, medium legs, almost silky texture, smooth dark fruit. Less pepper in the mouth than I'd have liked but nonetheless a really delightful wine. I agree with Ksnj

Pleasant, full-bodied with quite a bit of dark chocolate, cherries, and vanilla. This bottle lacked the acid, tannin, and complexity of the 2005 and 2004 versions of this wine. I am not sure if there was a conscious choice to dumb down this wine, if there is a new winemaker at Kilikanoon, or if this was just an off year.

Big bold Shiraz on the pop and pour. Dark berry fruit in your face. A couple hours in the decanter and this wine evolves more like a velvety Spanish Priorat with that minty complex nose. The big fruit comes into balance with the aromatics to form one incredible wine. I found myself taking micro sips and smelling the complex fragrances as they changed over a few hours. It is full and even on the palate so it has that coating sensation when all of your taste receptors fire equally. This is no typical Aussie Shiraz! Decant and be patient to appreciate.

When people talk about the decline in popularity of Shiraz due to an excessive number of generic, uninteresting, and overly alcoholic wines on the market, they are talking about this wine. This fact would be understandable at the $15 price point. At the $35+ price point, it is inexcusable.

Big Reds/ Crisp Whites (Farpointe Cellar): The nose had blackberry and cake spice, blueberry and vanilla, mocha and earth. The palate was soft, with blueberry and spice, vanilla and espresso, earth, and good blackberry finish.

Twist cap and decanted for one hour. Opaque purple in the glass with beautiful black fruits of blueberry, blackberry, chocolate, lead pencil and a light minerality. On the palate the wine is very well balanced with good structure and a nice long finish. Would pair well with a nice juicy steak or is wonderful on its own. Would definitely seek this one out.

Great fruit with a surprisingly long finish. Drank over two days with no degradation on day two.

Smokey and jammy with clear tobacco notes. A bit loose on the tail end.

Consistent notes, nice rich fruit flavors, smoked meat, typical aussie shiraz, but perhaps getting a little past its prime. Drink up.

A very nice shiraz for $25. With more time in the bottle, or even open, this gets a higher score.
