Very interesting combination... Syrah/Cab. It's in a wierd place where neither grape is willing to take the wheel and drive, so the flavor robust on the midpalate, but not particularly interesting and a little tart on the finish. Maybe some added time will allow the syrah to take a backseat and bring out the cab more.

Quite a bit of sediment. Very big dark fruit on the palate, but lacked the balance to be a wine worth brooding over. Definitely an enjoyable wine with food (big steak or molten chocolate cake) but only an average QPR.

Huge "wine diamond" deposits of potassium bitartrate on cork and neck; beautiful dark garnet easing out to a rich red at the rim. Heavenly nose of too many elements for my untrained nose to discern, but its end result is of Cali yeast perfectly melded with some fruit and other subtler elements. NICE! Mouth is equally well balanced and subtly layered. Medium acidity, medium finish. A very nicely polished and balanced wine with amazing structure and complexity.

Bustawinos V5 (Gaby Jr's Apartment): Big wine, "candy cane" nose. Jammy fruits, acidic, a lot of alcohol, hot hot wine. "very boozy". some chocolate notes once the heat blows out of the glass. beautiful finish, straight all the way through the palate and finish. very complete and powerful wine. Decanted about 2 hours prior to pouring. Clearly a blend, there was no consensus regarding region. Purchased for $25. Danny's wine.

Enjoyable & fruit forward. Lot of black fruit present on the nose and palate; blackberry, cherry, currants. Ample earth, mushrooms, pencil lead and leather. Decent structure, but falls short on the finish with a suggestion of green notes on the hind palate, which did not dissipate after 2 hours in the glass.

I disagree with some comments--I thought the cab syrah blend was very well done. Excellent with veal. Rich blackberry and cocoa taste. Great finish with soft tannins.

K&L Charity Event. This was a big step up from the first wine tasted Blend 24. Nose of dark cherry and berry fruit, touch of liqueur and earth, more of the same on the palate, tasty, medium body, touch simple, blending stretched to make less expensive wine was my thought.

Big Blend. Has some life left, but I wouldnt go past 2017. A fruit forward red with soft silky tannins. Hints of plum, blackberry, and graphite.

Pretty much the same as last time. Crunchy wine diamonds. Good BIG red. Seems to have reached its peak and is fading now.

Again, another one we may have left too long. Kinda one-note with no finish left on it.

Nicer than the first bottle. Hit its stride after an hour.

Difficult to characterize given the blend, but very enjoyable nonetheless. Rich texture, well-integrated, dense fruit. Pleased everyone.

Dark berry and plum bass notes, coffee, rich mouthfeel, opens up nicely after an hour or so. Very well put together.
