One might reasonably expect that a generic Kirkland label would house a generic red wine. but you would be wrong in this case. This wine nails what is classic and distinctive about Napa wines -- dark, deep, fruity, delicious. polished, and smooth, with nothing green, vegetal, hard, or harsh. Very tasty black cherry and blackberry. Irresistibly likeable and seductive.

Dark ruby color, good aroma and improved after time; nice notes of leather, etc.; tannic and heavy palate on first night. When tasted side-by-side with a 2005 Château Au Grand Paris I was able to discern the fruitiness or sweetness in this CA wine, relative to the Bordeaux. Nice overall, good weight and balance, albeit a bit more fruit forward.

Muted, but not unpleasant nose. Dominant flavors of cherry, candied cherry and black fruit, but the fruit is too forward, tannins and acidity out of balance. This is certainly a moderately pleasurable wine, and a decent, if not great, value for the money, but lacks character and ambition.

Nose somewhat absent but good fruit consisting of blueberries and plum when it hits the palate. A bit thin in the middle with an unnoticable finish. Not bad for the price.

This was pretty good. You could tell it was Napa grapes. Full, fruity, good juice. Good QPR.

Very nice wine for the price - one of the best 10.99 buys I've had. Good fruit & tannin, nice finish.
