Dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of clove, berries and plums. Flavors of berries, plums and raspberries. Medium acidity, medium tannin, medium to full bodied. Drink or hold.

Dense color and just barely translucent garnet. The aromas are coffee, strawberry, earth, and black olive. The tastes are black olive, espresso, and sour red fruit. The tannins are dry and the finish is sour but delicious.

Red/brick; clean and clear; not very extracted. Black fruit, wood, herbs, pine and spice on the nose. Warm, sweet, rounded and silky, with defined tannins and a clean, medium-long finish. Medium-bodied, nicely integrated and overall very elegant and balanced. It seems thinner and lighter than most traditional Brunellos, but it is very approachable and pleasant. At its peak right now; it likely has some more years left but I don't believe that it is actually going to improve noticeably. I purchased it on sale for less than $40, which I think represents a very good value. I would not nearly be as impressed if I paid $60-$80.

Had with BBQ lamb - a good match. Bright red, medium body, with a long finish. Probably could have aged more years. Very enjoyable, but I keep thinking that a good Chianti Classico Riserva is just as good at typically less cost.

Bright cherry, some deep violet, herbs, soft spices and pine. This is a concentrated wine. Tannins are mellow, but still full, with a full body to match. Great acid on the 2003. This wine has several years left in it. Excellent.

Taste Across Italy (Farpointe Cellar): The nose had loads of cherry and chocolate, plus raspberry and spice. The palate had raspberry, cherry, and spice.

All cherry and chocalate however with old world overtones that makes it worth the 40 price tag IMHO

Elegant and earthy, cherry, nut, leather and driftwood nose. Dry and lively palate, well supported by firm tannins; long, evolving finish.
4.5/5
