I thought this was spectacular. Aromatics jumping out of the glass. tons of dark fruit and smooth tannins. showing no signs of fading but also not much in the way of secondary flavors for a older wine. great QPR from a grand cru WA site

Slightly shy nose of blackberry, black raspberry, plum, graphite, iodine/lily, earth, and herbs. Plush, meaty palate, with red cherry, tart cherry, blackberry, earth, plum, and herbs. Nice acidity, still slightly grippy and chewy tannins, long finish. Delicious. Really nice. This doesn't knock you over the head with boldness, but has a lot going on. This bottle is not showing any tertiary notes. I think there's still a pretty long life ahead.

The community drinking window on this is accurate. This seems to have peaked and is starting to slowly fade. Aromatics and flavors are showing blackberry liqueur, slightly stewed black plum, and very ripe black cherry with powdered cocoa, cigar box, day old coffee, and dried herb. Structurally there is still both tannin and acid, but the fruit and flavor profile seems a bit tired. Good with grilled steak, but I would drink very soon!.

Wonderful stuff. Perfect black raspberry juice with just enough fruit and tannins to balance it all out. Mostly Cab with Merlot and Cab Franc blend. Absolutely love this and so representative of the best of Washington red wines.

Took this to my local bistro, and ended up sharing with some "wine curious"people at the bar with me. They were blown away. Never had they had something like this....aged, good fruit, well made. Still holding on, but I'd drink up soon.

Dark ruby. Lush nose, perfectly aged, barrel notes have pulled back leaving classic WA red blend nose, dominated by Cabernet. Taste is pure and driven by cool fruit, stone fruits, traces of oak here and there, and mild tannins that are restrained from a few years ago. Fine wine, a classic example of how good WA Bordeaux blends can be.

Surprisingly tight when popped. Poured through an aerator. Possibly too cold as it came out of my wine fridge. Either it opened up over the course of the evening or I drank too much but I was pretty happy with the fruit and finish by hour 3.

Tasted blind. Tight, well-structured with medium plus tannins. Medium plus acidity makes this seem lighter and more elegant than some other lower-latitude meritages. A good value, with plenty of ageing potential left.

Decanted 1 hour and rebottled. Consistent with previous TN. Nice cherry, blackcurrant and raspberry fruit profile and a smooth mouthfeel. Drinking very nicely.

Tremendous structure and body.An impressive bottle of wine. Lots of fruit - had many more years left in it. What can I say, - super pairing with rpime rib. decant for a couple of hours.

Impressive. Classy and elegant. Consistent notes with my January 2012 notes. Really, really good Meritage. Well worth $47 retail. Equal or better than many Napa Meritages for far less

Slightly more elegant than the 06&07 that are more punchy. The trademark blackberry was complemented by tertiary notes of leather and spices. The oak was less intrusive also - maybe an indication of where younger vintages will head.

Poured through an aerator. Really ripe fruit and great balance. Opened up over an hour. A perfect bottle to sharewith my wife on a friday night using the golden rule (3:1).

Decanted for one hour and rebottled. Dark cherry and black raspberry fruit with a refined, smooth texture. This was initially a little lean but over the course of several hours it added weight and complexity as secondary characteristics of coffee, dark chocolate and leather developed. 30 second finish with integrated tannins. In hindsight it would have benefitted from several hours in the decanter. Really nice bordeaux blend which should improve with a little cellar time. Good QPR at about $45.

Restaurant purchase, decanted with dinner. Medium bodied, dark purple. Cassis, black cherry, and dark berries with notes of coffee at the finish. Smooth and approachable, very good and enjoyable. Definitely a wine that I would seek out on the future.

Decanted 1 hour. This started out a bit acidic and hot, but quickly integrated with air. Sweet cherry pie, tobacco and baking spices prevail. A touch of drying tannins on the finish, lessening as it was consumed through the day. Drink now with air, or hold 2-4 years.

I drank this with friends on 11/7/10 after we returned from the Pomum release party. It had a fabulous bouquet of cassis, black cherry, black berry, cocoa, spice and licorice aromas. The palate was smooth, elegant and exceptionally well balanced with flavors of black cherry, blackberry, cocoa, spice and licorice. Everything was in perfect harmony.

At the 2009 Washington State Winemaker’s dinner 8/14/2009
Food pairing by Peter Birk Executive Chef, Ray’s Boathouse, Seattle Grilled Thundering Hooves Tenderloin gratin dauphinoise, petite carrots, cacao nib demi-glace
73% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, and 1% Cabernet Franc
Color: Dark garnet color in the glass. Aroma: A bit closed to smell with a hint of cherry and blackberries. This wine is quite good now but with some cellar time it will be even better. On the palette: Polished wine with a firm but very fine tannins, Blueberries, plum and cherries. It is truly a complex and elegantly balanced wine.
