In spite of perfect storage condtions, this one did not make it. Bad sneakers on the nose. No chance of improvement. Decantation, did not help. Down the sink.

This wine is not as big and bold as other bordeaux I've fallen in love with in the past. It does possess the enjoyable complexities of smell and flavor that most appreciate in these blends. The tannins were mellow and balanced with the berry fruit in this wine. Nothing really jumps out of this wine but it was still wonderful to enjoy while on a camping trip in Rocky Mtn Ntl Park.

Strong red fruit, fine cedar, cooked red pepper, and plums after 2 hours in decanter, solid structure, and long, but somewhat thin, with some sediment. Still has the same attack as the very young Lagranges, indicating continuity. As recommended by vendor, paired with lamb and fried red pepper, which highlighted the stewy, vegetal side of the wine. More rustical than elegant.

This last bottle (of four) seemed a little watered down compared to earlier tastings, but it was still "better than house red," as a friend of mine likes to say. It came from a dilute vintage, obviously, but it has classic left bank characteristics (cedar, green pepper) with a soft, mellow character and tannins pretty much resolved. Good QPR considering I found it for $17!

Classic Bordeaux profile. Still had plenty of life in it. Nice, but not special.

Beyond its prime, but still very drinkable.

This bottle is definitely beyond its prime. Most of the fruit is gone. Light with a slight bitterness.
