Pnp. Medium strawberry flavors with unexpected touch of heat on front palate, initially decent but marred by a very unpleasant bitter finish. No better on second night.

Consumed over 2 days, note from day 2. Nose: Medium plus expressiveness, extra ripe black cherry, shoe leather, smoke (big oak influence), cinnamon, and spice - almost over the top, but not quite. Palate: Medium-full bodied, nice spice kick up front, red fruit - pomegranate and cherry, back-end dominated by extra ripe red fruit flavors which dominate a lengthy finish. This is a tough wine to score as it is borderline great and borderline over the top - I'm on the fence with this.

Decant 1 hour, consumed over 4 hours. Nose: Smoke, black cherry, and licorice - some floral scents (rose) appear with a good swirl - quite expressive. Palate: Full bodied pinot, showing cherry and blueberry, high acidity leads to a tart back-end. Finish: Medium to long finish of tart cherry and blueberry.

Opened 1 hour before first pour. Nose: Tight, given a good swirl hints of raspberry, smoke, and a little barnyard. Palate: OAK! Lots of oak overpowers the red fruit that's in the background. Luckily I kind of like the smokey vanilla oak induced flavor that comes through on this wine. However it fails to reach its potential at this point because its dominated by oak. Behind the oak is an excellent full bodied pinot with a nice 15-20 second finish. With 2 more in the cellar I'll wait at least a year to see if the oak gets tamed.

Dark deep color. A big concentrated style with a good balance of tannins and acid. Fruit is packed - just loaded with flavors. Outstanding but not extraordinary. Could sit in cellar for a long time and I am sure it would be worth the investment.

This bottle was a major fail compared to the one we had about 6 weeks ago. This was just oak oak oak oak oak. What happened? I don't even think I could fairly score this wine. Hopefully others have the experience I had with my previous bottle and not this one.

The color in this wine was a nice pure red but was slightly cloudy. Lots of clove spice, red licorice, and new oak on the nose. Good acidity, nice balance and an interesting spiced minerality that gave it almost an earthy feel. Plenty of oak present but not overwhelming. This wine needs a good amount of time to bring all of those elements together but they should integrate quite nicely. 91 for now but there is potential for a higher score. 91+

This was a lovely wine in a very nice place - really good balance of sweet fruit and sous bois on a pretty light yet sweet frame.

Strong plum flavors with a smooth, clean finish. Not terribly complex. Got better with air.

a fair amount of brett, N/R (still, the wine showed solid balance and was pretty tasty on day 2)
