Jeff & Lisa’s: Blind: had a distinctive pruney, light cherry, black cassis and berry nose with plenty of old wood notes. A bit simple, lacked tar, floral elements so went for a med. aged chianti. This was a ’92 zin! Jeff guessed it on the nose. It was very good, but not complex and rich enough for Nebiolo. Very tasty, though.

Found in the back of my cellar. Way past the drinking window.

This was certainly developed. Tertiary notes of earth, pepper and leather. A decent palate of aged wine flavours and a soft finish.
This had held on very well.

Zins @ Minetta Tavern (NYC): Lighter in color. A slight bit of cardboard... this must have been slightly corked, but still drinkable.
