A faded beauty. Drank over two days and at its best at the 1 hour mark on day one. Mild bricking at the edges. Black cherry, cocoa powder, and licorice on the nose. Exceptionally smooth entry. Flavors of cherry, red apple, leather, tobacco and cedar. pleasant mouthfeel with a long finish.
Drink now.

decanted for an hour and drank over 2; much fruit is gone now from this 97, but there still remains a nice blend of fruit with secondary tastes. Medium to full bodied; has aged well and is drinking beautifully. I am not sure it has a lot of time before its decline, but it is in an excellent place right now.

This was just a great classically styled Cabernet. Popped and poured (well - Glass closure), and enjoyed with friends. Warm and round mouthfeel that coats the tongue, and long smooth finish. Great cab flavor with typical black fruits, maybe some plum, although minimal licorice (which is a typical Whitehall mark). Yummy herbal notes, leather, and cedar are showing. Very balanced acidity. Better than the '06.

The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like raspberry, red currant and blueberry. It tastes like strawberry and blueberry, lpepper. The body is full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

Close to mind blowing. The Rutherford Red introduces itself on the nose, followed by a wash of Intense plummy fruit, finishing with a whirl of balancing acid, tannin, pepper notes, and lingering regret that we didn't buy a case when we could.

This went very well with grilled New York strip. Nicely fruit forward at first. Rasberry, cherry and oak up front. Well-integrated tannins lend to a silky smooth finish. As the wine warmed the tanninsfirmed a little. The palate showed more creme brulee or spiced apple pie. Not enough tannins to hold up for very much longer. Drinking beautifully right now. A very creamy opulent red. Hint of the Rutherford dust. Love the glass cork.

A pleasant wine. I give this one a conservative 88-89 score that could be 90. Nice Cab, but not over the top. Intense color but somewhat light on the palate. Fruit, cherry, plum and berry essence. Drinking nicely now.

Classic Rutherford characteristics; thought this was a superior wine to the Reserve or regular cabernet. Nice tannin structure that should allow it to age nicely. Really liked this wine of all the wines I tasted at the winery, except for the St. Helena bottling.
