  • Cork broke quickly again, and had to push into bottle. However, this wine is still drinking quite well and has several more years left in it. Decanted 30 minutes before first sip and it continued to develop nicely for another 90 minutes. Strong tannins at first sip smoothed out over time.

    The wine looks brick colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. The body is medium. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes medium.

  • Fantastic wine. Required little decanting and the dark cherry flavors lasted for hours. The cork was dried out and broke when pulled, but it did not impact the wine. Much better than the other Taurasi's I have had from similar vintage and same vineyard.

  • 三次,前后几个月,hold up得很好。每次都要醒6小时以上才会显示这个酒的面目。品种典型的砖红色的温暖感觉。还有很强的涩劲。很多沉淀,最后三分之一口感略muddy,因为混有一些沉淀。比较而言,这是个偏lean的年份,欠饱满。

  • It’s dead. I’m impatient so maybe it needs more time, but it’s been two hours and change. I think it’s a few years over due. However, this bottle wasn’t cellared well over the last two years. Sigh...

  • Almost as beautiful as the last bottle. A tad less richness in the nose, but still smoky and dark and cedarwood. Palate is very big with peat, meat, chewy dark fruit. A nice touch of acidity to balance it. I don't think this is going up anymore, so suggest drinking.

  • Still deep purple-red and opaque. Earthy with mostly black currant, black raspberry and some iron and metallic flavors. Soft tannins at this point which were even less apparent on night two. A really nice cuvée at this price point. I think it is completely mature, but should hang on for another couple of years.

  • this bottle seems a little turned off, although decanted for hours. Mute nose, palate is alive but less expressive than expected. Quite disappointing. Bea celebrating 19

  • Big, Big, Beautiful stuff. Nose is smoky, dark, cedar. Palate is chewy, rich, almost port like, with big blended tannic notes that really keep the taste zinging along. This is drinking as if its peak, but still very lively. I'm pushing back the drink by date at least to 2018.

  • Great wine, strong, full body. Dark brick colour, intense nose, delicious on the palate, very complex, and pleasant medium/long finish. Probably at it's peak right now.

  • Esplêndido! Estilo clássico arrebatador! Excepcional aos 16, mas sobra potencial.. Estrutura monumental, ligeira dureza, acidez marcante, bela complexidade.. Se eu o comparasse a um carro, seria um clássico da estirpe de um Aston DB5 (que adoro), porém, fica mais adequado equipará-lo a um belo e conterrâneo Maserati mesmo! Rs. Elegante, com certa austeridade, genuinamente fino.. Maravilhoso! Extremamente longevo! Creio que quando chegar duecento, ainda poderão ter o prazer de beber um centotrenta!

  • opened 3 hours before drinking but still rather tannic, mainly herbal notes with good acidity and long finish. Some dried flowers and more fruit appeared later, need food with this wine.

  • Cor grená concentrado. Belo nariz complexo, com acidez marcante que emoldura notas de puros morangos e outras da evolução já mais proeminentes, que remetem a chão de floresta, folhas secas, terra e pedras molhadas, minerais, chá amargo e couro.. Também ótimo na boca, tendo uma arrebatadora acidez, bela estrutura e apreciável sabor sutilmente amargo, tudo já muito bem equilibrado e preciso. O final é muito longo, com alguma tanicidade. Pode ser um pouco duro para alguns, mas pra mim, já está agradável aos 15, embora tenha um extraordinário potencial, devendo continuar a evoluir bem e durar até uns 30+..

  • Hard to open after up to 2 hour decanting. Very sensible to temperature. Slowly opened up unveiling a complex nose. High quality oak, pencil, leather and a bit bitter aftertaste. But it is not a wine to drink alone, best paired with pasta garnished with wild boar. Full bodied with astringent tannins. But I would expect much more from this benchmark Taurasi which fails to seduce. PD

  • Le nez est expansif et plutôt envoûtant duquel ressort des notes de tabac et de fleurs séchés. La bouche démontre une fois de plus la finesse auquel ce producteur nous a habitué mais le fruité délicat et les épices perçus dans les bouteilles précédentes manquent àa l'appel ou du moins sont moins présentent dans cette bouteille. Une rencontre tout de même agréable mais une légère déception face aux bouteilles précédentes.

  • Very awkward.

    Garnet core with lighter rim, maturing with brown hues on rim.

    Nose is clean with dominant florals of dried flowers, violets, cocoa, sweet rasins, hay, dried herbes, charred meat, baking spice, toasty oak, tobacco and aged cigars

    Palate is clean and dry with m+ body of tobacco, sweet cocoa, baking spice, ripe drying full tannins with tea and brown sugar, high acid with juicy currants, m+ alcohol showing port-like heat, m+ finish of floral dried herbs with sweet spice.

    What a weird wine. I had a couple of mature Aglianicos in the past. This is still a baby. I would love to come back to it in 10 years. It shows almost no signs of age. Very well made wine.

  • très bien, moins fruité que la dernière bouteille, mais tout de même bien.
    Il y avait une légère amertume bizarre à la fin mais pas de là à avoir brisé le vin!!

  • This wine is getting better as time goes by. Tannins seem to be smoothing out and the flavor is nice across the palate. In my humble opinion, this wine seems to be hitting its peak drinking window.

    Bonjour, hier dans la journée, après un petit 4 heures de travail, je suis arrivé à la maison et ouvert ce délicieux nectar!!!!
    robe, rouge assez dense au pourtour orangé. larmoyant
    Première coupe après ouverture, c'est fermé, un nez peu jasant. en bouche c'est du fruit confit, vanillé un brin sans excès, pruneau? Les tannins très présents, la finale est asséchante sur le boisé subtil, chocolat?

    après deux heure d'ouverture, le nez devient volatile, belle empreinte de cerise, un petit côté animal, pruneau? vanille et chocolat.
    En bouche, c'Est soyeux, ça coule très bien, une attaque sur le pruneau et la cerise, c'est gouleyant, tout se passe bien, finale encore un peu asséchante boisé subtilement et chocolat, animal,.

    La finale est très longue et assez complexe! Cela m'a pris quelques 6 heures pour passer au travers de la bouteille, mais le jus se buvait tout seul, il m'a fallu de la retenue. Une autre belle bouteille.
    Celle restante, je vais la revisiter dans quelques années.

  • Decanted for 2 hours.
    This was a bit closed on the nose even after 2 hour decanting. Then it started to open up beautifully unveiling a very complex and sweet nose....I've got screaming vanilla, high quality oak, chocolate liquor and hints of marzipan...really good. On the palate, this is full bodied, very balanced with gentle and astringent tannins. It's ready to drink now, although it might improve with 3-5 years of additional cellaring. Excellent!

  • I'm a big fan of the wines from Mastroberardino. To me they are full of structure and hearty flavor. This was the first bottle of Cento and tasting this made me grateful that there are a few more laying down, all with Antonio Mastroberardino's signature on the bottle. Nicely tannic right now but certainly drinkable. Pleasant aromas on the nose. If you can find this at a retailer give it a try.
