This held up really well at 11 years past the vintage. No sign of fading color and was denser than an 07 Brunello we had with it. Nice nose and dry finish that matched perfectly with a homemade Italian feast prepared by my wife for friends.

From pop and pour: Faintly scented wet brick, rhubarb, smoked saline, toast, caramel, diesel and game-funk. Faded on the palate exposing sharp non-distinct red fruit, leather, cigar box and a cotton mouth drying finish which was quite astringent. After two hours: Vastly improved mouth feel; soft plums, juicy crushed fruit and stones arose. Smooth, easy to drink with bit of heat noted which was ultra subtle. Great with a hearty pasta dish.

This had an elegant, focused bouquet of leather, lead pencil, cherry, cranberry, herb and spice aromas. The palate was nuanced and very dry with flavors of leather, toast, cherry, cranberry and spice. This was seriously in decline.

Lacks a little depth and complexity, yet a very nice wine with impressive development within its price range. Perfume- and spiceoriented on the nose, more earth, dark chocolate and sour cherries on the palate. Tannins and acidity still on high levels - don't hesitate to consume this wine right away though - it feels like the fruit is on its way downhill.

I had this with grilled Ribeye on 10/24/11. It had a rich, fragrant bouquet of black cherry, blackberry, cedar, vanilla, leather and burnt toast aromas. The palate was rich, smooth and very dry with flavors of black cherry, blackberry, leather, vanilla and burnt toast.

This wine has really developed since I tried it first time in 09. Tannins are practically gone, only wondefu frukt and character left. What à bargain @ 10€!!

Actually reminds me of a good Washington merlot or Super Tuscan more than an aglianico or any other traditional Italian wine for that matter. Good black cherry flavors with a fair amount of oak. The dryness of Italy is there on the back end with a nice long finish. Not super complex, but interesting enough. The stuffing and fruit is there for a decent cellar life, and at the price, I'll probably grab some more. Definitely an unexpected flavor profile from a varietal that's usually rather traditional, however it's great for the price point. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a Super Tuscan at a good price point or a new world fan looking to explore Italian wines.

Appearance: Clear, medium garnet, pale rim, light deposits. Nose: Clean, medium intensity, developing black cherry and floral. Palate: Dry, medium acidity, medium (+) tannin, medium low alcohol, medium-bodied, Medium-intensity black cherry, blackberry, and light purple floral. Very good quality. Ready to drink but can age. Cork closure. FW

Excellent choice with a rustic pasta with Italian sausage. Nice earthiness on the palate to go with the fruit. Good acidity to complement the tomato based pasta and spicy sausage. Good interest here, not at all boring.

still a bit closed up, austere, but hints of a lot of potential. On second day after lots of air, the wine was beginning to evolve nicely, complex dark fruits, not much sweetness, but interesting. I plan to get more and hold on to it for a few years.

Perfume, spice, ripe dark fruit, vanilla, menthol on the nose. Superripe fruit on the palate, lots of tannins. A bit of an old world fruit bomb with some backbone. Great value.

From the stunning region of Cambania, this medium bodied red has dark cherry and vanilla notes, and a dry finish. Complimented grilled burgers perfectly, but would be equally good with other BBQ favorites. Looking forward to trying more wines from this region.

Bravo Italia. Another winner from the atmospheric Campania region. Ripe red with a nutty flavor. Good structure. Full bodied. Complex and balanced. Great QPR.

Nice ruby colour. Good nose on opening of muted cherries, dark fruits - some wood at first. In the mouth fine tannins, notes of chocolate - soft, rounded flavours - medium bodied - after 2 hours there is more of a vegetal, farmyard aroma that adds complexity. Nice tangy follow through. Good depth - excellent balance. At £10 this is a must-buy. Very good. I will definately buy this again. If you live in the UK then Oddbins stock this.
