its been a long time since we had this last 11 whole year since we had this fresher and more vibrant ( Papies 92). Still alive but well filled with oxidative notes, well past its best of days and for sure depending on cellaring this will have variation but is now nobly old. We would advocate one drinks this sooner than later. 88-89 if our bottle is to be considered representative.

For a villages Meursault this is excellent. Very vibrant even after 13 years. Light to medium yellow color. The nose a little reticent at first but emerges with aromas of white flowers and Asian pears. The wine has wonderful energy with a nice acidic backbone and expressive flavors of orchard fruit, minerals and some light oak treatment. This lacks the complexity of the premier crus but it is a really good drink today.

Drank it blindly, his origine as a Burgundy is obvious, I guessed 2005, balanced, some nuts in the finish, good acidity structure, creamy, nice for food pairung, 91-92, now nice to drink

The nose shows a little advanced, with some lemon and butterscotch. Not sherried but going in that direction. The palate was lovely, with good acidity and energy with a creamy texture that balanced well the other elements.

First time having a Lafon village level Meursault. Wine seems to be in a good place of maturity showing a nice golden color with some brulee and custard notes on the nose. Palette was classic Lafon with power and a touch of noticeable oak. Acid levels were very nice, thank you 2007 for this. Given the fact it's a village wine, there was not a whole lot of complexity here. Still, this is probably one of the best village wines out there. It was just lacking in the gun flint minerality department for me. Had Pierre Morey Terres Blanches 2007 a few nights before, same price point, and that was firing. This wine came off as what would be a good compromise for the Burg lover and Cali wine drinker. Cheers - MN

Lovely and fresh citrus nose with little oak influence. Medium palate with good complexity for its level, pretty long finish with lots of minerals and nutty oil.

Lovely crisp but buttery meursault. Slightly simpler and not as full as some premier crus but a very elegant and delicious start to Christmas Eve dinner!

The wines of of Comtes Lafon, with James Handford MW (Handford Wines, London): 2007 is shaping to be a brilliant vintage for whites. Restrained on the nose, citrus notes, light exotic fruits, a bit more profound oak ( even more than the 2008). Good fruit and depth on the palate, roundish clean feel to it. Good fruit with length. Will not dissapoint and a lot better than when we tried it last. 92

Very complex and sexy nose with spicy new oak, roasted hazelnuts, fried bacon and flowers. Creamy and elegant in palate with pronounced minerality. Very intense and long.

Serious Burgundy night (Chez Rosa-Teixeira, Limmerston St, London): Very well made wine, but in effect the buttery, mineral depth that we so much love in Meursault is not here. Its a good white wine, balanced and drinks very well at the monent but its a bit on the shallow end. At the end of the day this is a village and for the village it is very good but for this price tag there is a lot more out there. Drink from now. 88+.

Burgundy 2011, Day 0 (Beaune): An excellent Meursault village. This had all the richness of Meursault paired with the lovely acidity of the vintage. It had a lovely deep nose - deepest of the three whites we had, with reservoirs of white fruit, wheatgrass scents, sweet white flowers, some cream and a whiff of honey. With time, some earth and chalk hints and even a bit of toast came out. Very nice, and very complex for such a young wine. Lovely on the palate too. Here, mouthwatering acidity framed a rich, weighty, buttery textured mouthfull of yellow fruit tinged with some citrus freshness. There was an impressive amount of power, extract and structure for a village, but it was the precision and focus underlying it all that I really impressed me. The longish finish had just a touch of green herbs adding a lift. Lovely stuff. This showed even younger and tighter than the pair of 2009s that we had alongside! Lovely stuff, which should age really, really well.

Elegant but lacking in the typical stuffing of a meursault. Tight and a bit discombobulated, slight off balance with acidity. Perhaps not the best bottle and will try another soon to confirm.

This was lovely! Great elegant nose of smoked wood, some butter, very mature yellow fruit. Perfect balance and long and persistent finish. It will be interesting to taste this alongside Coche Dury Meursault Village 2007 in a few years time.

A Few Lafon Meursaults and Volnays (Arlequin Wine Merchant, San Francisco): Medium yellow. Ironically, this was somehow more impressive than the Clos de la Barre of the same vintage. Lighter than the 2009 but lactic and creamy, really without much trace of wood. This clearly outperformed.

This is the best sample to express the terroir of Meursault and the style of producer that's perfect.
I always love this wine, 2 bottles tasting of 2009 and feel the 1er Cru in its finished.
I'm not hesitate to buy 24 bottles of 2007 and it's very good to drink at the moment.
Fresh acidity, sexy nose, delicious and beautiful finished. Great village wine.
Love it.
