  • Last night I had the Château Reysson Réserve du Château, Haut-Medoc, 2005. Straight into the glass, then leave for about 20 minutes.Beautiful dark Bordeaux red in the core deep dark, aromas of red cherry, blackberries, redcurrants, herbs, and precious wood came out of the glass. On the palate a juicy wine, beautiful fruit after cherries, blackberries and red berries, herbs, liquorice, a medium body and a beautiful acidity, balanced, harmonious, but still a slightly sandy tannins again.A long finish on the black and red berry side with neat tannins.Drink it with a steak. Very good Quality Price Ratio, very recommended.

  • A traditional Bordeaux that does not seduce the consumer with sweetness, fruit and silkiness but is made in a juicy and lighter style with a mix of red fruits and blackberries, a slight greenness typical of Bordeaux, tobacco and spices, soft tannins and a hint of bitterness on the finish. It's not a wine for hedonists nor for those who need lots of complexities, but it is a good wine to enjoy with food. This is ready for drinking now. - 86 points

  • Klassisk Bordeaux på näsan. Smaken är en liten besvikelse där det inte finns tillräckligt mycket frukt för att möta upp alkoholen.

  • Well, it's after 2011, but it's turning into a 85-point wine. Its overuse of oak has made it clear that the harsh tannin I tasted last time was not from the grapes, but oak tannin. Dark purple garnet hue starting to brick on the rim. Nice dark fruit with predominant black cherry on the nose, showing black currant and blackberry cassis. Additional aging has shaped up a more complex bouquet of Indian spice and herbs with some black pepper, chalk, mocha and cedar. Complex nose. Medium bodied, black cherry, blueberry and dark plum on the attack, muted by harsh tannin and a huge structure on the mid-palate, not in a good way. Medium to long finish, tannin takes over in the aftertaste with dark cherry, blackberry wrapped in wood, one dimensional, finishing off with some coffee and sour cherry. 85+. Drink now.

  • Decanted 2 hours before drinking. Nice classic Bourdeaux, that went well with red meat ant taters. Ready to drink but will probably be even better in a year or two.

  • Garnet color with some red hue. Ripe plum aroma backed by dark chocolate and blackberry cassis. Toasted oak bouquet lifted by coffee, tobacco, cigar box and some hazelnut components. Rather closed nose at first that opens up with some air-time. Medium bodied wine with some red fruits coming through on the palate. Very ripe cherry and plum with slight blackberry note on the attack, fruit characters start to become more forward as it breathes. Almost a bitter taste at the back end due to its strong backbone: very tannic, yet silky, mid-palate. Clearly needs more time in the cellar! The finish is medium in length with a crisp and nutty-coffee aftertaste. Drink after 2011.

  • Bought it for $12 (believe it or not), and it was beyond a steal at this price. Simple, lacks balance and structure for long aging, but has nice dark fruit and earthy flavors, and enough acid and tannins to evolve for 2-4 more years in the cellar (wish I had another bottle to do just that). Gets even better after an hour or so of air. Think steak--or mushroom-n-swiss burger. Would be a nice intro to Bordeaux for the novice/curious.

  • The first bottle I bought was corked. I returned it for another from the same case. The second one was quite good. I was very pleased at the quality for a $22 bottle.

  • A tight core of earth, red fruits, with a light hint of funk that will become something special with some more time in the bottle. In the mouth there are blue & black fruits with a core of granite notes lying underneath. This bottle needs some time, but speaks of the true quality of wines at all price points for this vintage...and will be wonderful with a few years in the cellar. This has the potential to be an outstanding bottle with enough patience and time in the cellar.
