Decanted an tasted over three hours. Cork was wet an seepage was on the bottle. Bought on a auction with other wines, this one was in the badest condition.
The nose Not much to give in, a little sweet Apple, oak, pineapple. The nose has faded alot
The palate: Orange, pineapple, lemon, kind of like multi juice. Roasted or almost burnt almonds. Very high alcohol with sharp acidity.
It got better with a decant - more to smell and softer to drink. You could taste that it had a certain age but no way 46 years, more like 20-25 years. I was afraid to keep it for too long, because of the cork issues. It also did had a little wet carpet to smell, but faded out, during the decanting.
I'm 91 Points on this - If the wine didn't have cork issues, it could last for some years extra. Maybe another 10-15 years. I know for sure that my Chateau Coutet 76' would do, because of the way better condition.

Dark amber but a very clear colour. The cork was on its last legs and came out in pieces but fortunately had done its job. Subtle bouquet. No obvious sweetness now. Complex range of tastes which change as the bottle goes down. A great experience well worth the cash outlay.

This is Sauternes at its best and biggest. Clear golden hue, just turning slightly amber. Sweet (but not overly so), full of botrytis, good acidity. This has candied orange, pine-apple, peach, apricot, marzipan and a big hint of 'After Eight' dinner-chocolates. Long lingering aftertaste. All in perfect balance (keyword here!!) This is in a great spot, but young still, and should drink well for decades to come.
