  • 2001 Fonseca Porto Vintage Quinta do Panascal

    Tasted in zalto universal
    Decanted for 3 hours

    Nose and palate:
Caramel, prune, fig, plum, chocolate, oak.
    Great and delicious.
Kind of fatning out, put still powerful.

  • 2020 La Chablisienne Chablis La Pierrelée

    Tasted in zalto bordeaux glass

    The nose:
Red Apple, melon, grape, pineapple. Some minerality and stoney touch

    The palate:
Same as the nose. Juicy, fresh and alive. Sometimes you just want a no-oak wine and Chablis makes that happen beautifully. Also this wine. So pure fruits and clean on the complexity, you just want another glass.

    Tannin low
    Acitidy medium+
    Body light.

If you want something thats not romantic at All, drink Chablis with McDonalds. Just to test out the chablis you bought.
The salty and fatty burgers compares well with the fresh fruit and cleanses your palate.

For this wine witch cost 27€ at a supermarket, its quite well made and does seems like it balancing between a entry level Chablis and a pro Chablis.

  • 2016 Quilt The Woven Quilt

    No decanting
Tasted in a zalto bordeaux glass
    - Make sure to warm it up from cellar temp, because its a different feeling then when its 14-16 degrees

    The nose:
Blackberry, blackcurrant, plum, black cherry, leather, licorice, tobacco, oak, a green herby thing also.

    The palate:
Explosion of dark fresh fruit. Vibrant on the tongue. Sharp acidity, oak, chocolate, licorice, Primary fruits on this one.

    Acidity medium
    Tannin medium
    Body medium

Despite you have merlot, zinfandel, syrah and petit syrah it doesnt have that compact heaviness you'd might expect.
I think the moderate tannin and the sharp acidity is making the wine less fat and bold but actually brightens it up a bit.

I love the fact that a 30€ wine challenge me like this.

I've never tasted it and bought 18 bottles. Now got 17 left.

    I love it, 95 points
