Still a great bottle of wine. I would’ve said it was at its peak, but it was stronger at the end of day two (with vacuum cork). Guessing the peak window is closing though.

Decanted for over two hours. This was my last bottle and although the CT drinking window end said 2019, I believe there is still a lot of life left in the tank. Medium to full body and smooth as silk. Simply lovely. Wish I had more.
Decanted for over an hour. Deep purple-black in hue. A lovely nose of dark plums, blackberry jam and light cigar box. The palate is rich and full bodied. The fruit remains condensed compact and up front with hints of wet stones and cedar on the finish. A lovely wine and great accompaniment to grilled steak.

Napa on the nose, bordeaux on the palate. Inky, rich nose of black fruit, soft and balanced, with good complexity. Drinking well now with no rush, but offering up a lot and would drink over the next 5 years or so. Better than expected.

Had with grilled rib eye. Decanted for 2+ hours. This was a phenomenal pairing. The wine is full bodied and inky. Color: deep purple to black (5/5); Nose: dark fruit, bramble and cassis. (9/10); Palate: Big, unctuous, meaty and lovely. Fruit is huge with a resolute tannic backbone. (17/20); Finish: long and lush with a mild tannic bite (9/10); Age potential: This wine has a lot of life left in her. I could see it going another 8-10 years. (5/5) = 45 + 50 = 90

Based on my only bottle of this I would drink this now. Or, if you have more than one check it out and see where your stash is at. Mine was more than ready, mostly bouquet and not very exciting until I paired it with Filet Mignon. Then it got up on it's hind legs!

Presented this wine in an eclectic flight during a blind tasting with a 2 hour decant. It was easy to identify this iconic Napa cab for all of its characteristics. A well liked wine by the 16 people in attendance. Big fruit forward nose and palate. Big, dark and brambly on the attack with some chalky tannins on the back palate. Should continue to soften with another year or two in the cellar.

Decanted for about an hour prior to drinking with rib eye. Overall a great wine for dinner, but I think this wine would be just as good without food. As mentioned before, this has a big brooding nose of dark fruit, purple in color with a crimson rim. Seemless on the palate. Dark plum, currant, a touch of lavender and a little bit of chocolate. Long finish, leaves you wanting more. There was a little fine sediment in the glass. This is prime for drinking now or will hold up for 5-8 more years.

Gave it 90 minutes of air. This is an interesting wine (which, when referring to a wine someone else brought, can be code for "not very good"...though that's not the case here). After trying it in the Cab, Syrah, Zin glasses (Reidel), I settled on the Pinot Glass.
That seems fitting, given that this Cab strikes me more as a Pinot. It's lighter in style for a Cab, well structured and has decent fruit. And as the previous review mentioned, a great nose!
IMO, drink this if you're in the mood for a lighter Cab or a heavier Pinot that's very mellow. That's not what I was expecting, but it's what I got and it was very nice!

Intensely perfumed with violet colored flowers and clean pure red and black berry on the nose. Spice and amazing complexity on the palate showcase a wine that is still entirely youthful.

PnP consumed over 2 nights, with night #2 showing better, but still quite simple and uninteresting.
Wines like this - gagged and bound in oak, with average fruit quality and low acids - are what drove me away from Napa/Cabs. Tack on the totally undeserved price-tag, and the recipe is complete. Tightly wound on night #1, completely unmemorable. Night #2, and the wine still required a good dose of coaxing in the glass before it gave up aromas of iodine, ferrous metal, cassis and blackberry. Full-bodied, and well composed given what little there is to work with here, and built for prime rib more than it's built for a ribeye. Good, but pretends to be very good. Glad I didn't pay for it. 14,5% abv, drink thru 2020, be sure to aerate in decanter.
Decanted for approximately one hour and still somewhat tight on the nose and palate but still enough fruit and soft tannins pulling through in a well balanced and tightly structured wine. Enjoyed on my birthday with Sharon who was equally impressed.

Our second (and last) bottle of the '06 JCS. Full bodied, a hint of acid in the nose. Deep black cherries. Tannins fading. Lovely long finish. Enjoy now or hang on, you can't go wrong either way.

delicious, very nice, great delicious- really like iy, goes well with pork, rich, good, but not smoothy, zing, the tannins took charge at the very last breat, the tongue did a happy dance on the very last swirl

Good depth and density; but thick and heavy. Sweet. "Fruit Bomb", as some would say. Soft, round, and ready to drink. Focused, but one dimensional. Not complex.

Jammy fruit, some acidity, with some mint on the mid palate before an unremarkable finish. Within the infamous california stle of not pairing well with food at all. It's definitely more of a cocktail drink, but a pretty good one.

Smooth berry, stewed red fruits and pine on the nose, like walking thru a grove of sequoias on a warm day. Tobacco and bold tannins on the palate. Great now but can probably cellar another 10-15.

Great young Cab. Nose is a bit tight but with classic Cali Cab aromas of currant and cement dust. On the palate, beautiful fruit but with dominant tannins from the mid-palate to the finish. This is a very young wine and probably is best laid to rest for a while.

A good, well made wine. Good structure without being heavy -- a big plus in my book. Nice integration of oak. This is a good food wine. In the end, however, this wine lacks complexity, which makes it one dimensional and unmemorable.
Oakville wine with a darker fruit profile and a bit of mint. But the biggest part is the blast of cassis on the nose combined with blackberry. It's tannic; I'd give it 3 years.
