Never had a CA SB this old before. Surprisingly, not bad.... Still crisp acidity. Definitely showing typical oxidation signs: Gold color. Funky nose with some dill and baked apple. Some butterscotch, nutty and candied citrus flavors. A bit like an older chardonnay. A fun, interesting drink.

Tasted blind with a French wine maker who guessed Chardonnay! She loved the great balance of the oak, medium weight, lime, white peach, and fresh, acidic finish. Since they stopped using Semillon fruit in the blend this wine has gotten much better and I believe it will last longer than 2006 and prior vintages - it is now 100% estate and I believe biodynamically farmed. Either way, this still has stuffing for another year and a half say but is an absolutely perfect aperitif wine right now. N.B. let the wine warm up a bit in the glass and you will be richly rewarded - serve it too cold and it will be too closed.

This is a very strong S.B. We served at our Christmas Open house and it got rave reviews. Fresh pear on the nose, subdued oak, very drinkable now. Great legs on this fun, light, tasty, but not too sweet S.B.

Tasted at winery – pale lemon, clear. Nose of citrus, gooseberry and some toasty oak. Flavours of light citrus, tropical fruits and some noticeable oak. Medium body, acidity and finish. Drink now. Good.

Fruit is still slightly holding on and one can see the quality of it, but definitely past its prime.

nice grassy, straw palate. Not complex , but straight and crisp. A decent Blanc

pleasant bottle of wine, but I think there are some NZ blanc's that are better QPR.

We loved this. Had it at the winery. So much lusher and full bodied than many California S.B. Would definitely get again.
