I agree with the notes here - this bottle is really nothing special. It really doesn't taste like a Spanish wine, more like something from South America. It tastes a bit manipulated. I only paid $13 for the bottle so I'm not going to lose sleep over it. I bought on the recommendation from my favorite wine shop. I guess they can't be right all the time.

I am not sure about this bottle. I had another try about 4 months ago. Totally different. Much more crude, no typical Tempranillo fruit features, but no obvious signs of a defect.

Spice and oak show at first on the nose. Soft fruit, and not really worried about balance. More concerned with mouth feel. It's ok, but that first glass will be the best.

Sweet nose of red fruits and a little spice. Heavier than expected on the palate with more of that fruit but quite short on the finish. Pleasant, but nothing more.

Prune, flat, soulless and sad.

Ripe, extracted fruit...almost prune like. Hot on the back end. No thanks; big pass.

Very nice overall. Not too fruity. Very drinkable with food.

Easy wine to drink. Young fruit but nothing else.

3/17/2009 - Double-A Does not like this wine:
Fruit/floral profile. Simple and straightforward, not very 'Rioja'-ish.

Very primary tasting but drinkable. It tasted similar to a young CdP and had decent structure under all of the fruit.
