The 15 year old juice is drinking fine. PnP. This wine opened so well. An hour after opening this wine hit it’s stride. Medium to full bodied, with berries, dark fruit and earth. I think it’s at its peak. Find some🍷

I can repeat my TN from our previous bottle 5 months ago. Slo-oxed for 30 minutes. Our noses were bombarded with a bowl full of red and dark red fruits, along with some cedar. The medium to plus palate showed this same fruit bowl, a touch of both cedar and spice, juicy acidity to balance the fruit, and totally integrated tannins. Could hold for a couple of years, but why wait as I don't believe it will improve.

Delicious now, would drink sooner rather than later, but I enjoy the huge fruit. Nice structure but tannins are smooth. Less Paso Robles spice than others from this winery.

Opened bottle 3 hours before drinking with dinner (lamb). Highly praised by dinner guests. Well within drinking window, but should hold up well for another several years.

Well balanced blend. Appreciate it for the CS backbone, with the CF and merlot softening it overall. Enjoyed the slight floral quality. Can't imagine it improving so drink them now.

The wine has high acidity. It smells like mushroom, barnyard, mineral, stoniness, forest floor and dust. The wine finishes short. It tastes like raspberry, strawberry and blackberry. The wine looks violet colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. The wine has coarse texture.

Oak on the nose. Dark ruby color. A bit of red licorice, spice, on the palate. Medium full body, medium finish. Overall a nice wine- definitely could age a bit more.

Beautiful nose with a rich mouthfeel and legs that go forever. Really at a good stage right now. Decanted about an hour and drank beautifully. Lots of dark brooding berries and a rich velvety finish. Finished up the last 2 bottles, and can't wait to dip into the 07's

Massive, complex fruit, with a nice layer of tannin. This is a whopper, with plenty of time left. Highly enjoyable now with a some air. Very masculine.

Drank at thanksgiving. Is just starting to shed some of the bright fruit, though it is still very much there. Saw that it was possibly in a transition phase from other notes but after 2+ hour decant thought it was humming along. Delicious as usual.

Dectanted 1.5 hours. Dense, dark purple color. Full throttle Paso Robles fruit and great with steak, but a bit one diminsional at this stage. Unlike a prior bottle, no tartness. May be better on day 2 or 3, but it didn't last, which tells you something, but I expect a lot from wines at this price range and pedigree. It may be in a transition phase. I will try and wait until 2014 to give another bottle a try.

Ruby-garnet red color with strong dark fruit on the nose. Hints of cherry cola, sage and white pepper. Soft tannins, full bodied, chewy lush and a long deep finish with a hint of coco. Still a little tight, will benefit from some more time. Decanted for two hours and it opened up tremendously during that time.

Delicious. Opened 2 hours before dinner. Seemed a bit muted compared to the prior bottle last summer, but after another 1/2 hour the fruit became more emphasized and it was singing. Nice cherry backbone, delicate silky texture, with a finish that lasts a good 1/2 minute, though not as complex as I remember the prior bottle being. Very well built though, balanced.

Not as inspiring as the previous bottle. This one had all the same elements there but the amplitude was turned down about 20% and the finish seemed much more dilute. It didn't sing like last time even though I had it by itself as well as with great food. Oh well. One more....

Decanted for about 2 hours for a family Christmas dinner, but this wine disappared in a flash before I could get a really good chance to take some decent notes. That being said, it was quite approachable despite its youth, with a little tart cherry note initially that came into balance as he evening progressed. The fruit was more subdued and balanced than I expected for a 15% alcohol California wine. Notes of cherry cola, vanilla, and moderate tannies and a medium long finish.

Wolflicks Thanksgiving Dinner - Enjoyed this after dinner and throughout the evening. Really spectacular red fruit that is well integrated with the earthy tannins. Extremely long satisfying finish. Hope the 07s that I have can match this!

--- COLOR: Ruby-garnet with med-ruby rim NOTE: Best Isosceles Reserve I've had to date (enjoyed 2000 and 2002 - 2006). It's the most balanced and precise. Not a wine that will blow your hedonistic socks off or flame you out with hot overripe fruit. No heat anywhere. This is a much more elegant Reserve with a beautiful nose of blackberry/raspberry liqueur, grilled black plum, kirsch, black licorice, sage. The mouth is medium-plus weight with sweet tannins that kick out a load of that same blackberry/raspberry combo, cherry pipe tobacco, loamy earth and leather. The finish has nice sweet glycerin with good offsetting acidity, and the berry fruits are now dusted with 60% cocoa powder. There's a little kick of black licorice right at the end of the finish. Really well done Baldwin family and team! This is ready to go now but could probably last a few more years at this level. Performed as well as a 2006 Lewis Hillstone Cab that was highly-rated by WS.

Potential to get better with age. Dark red, clear, pristine in color. Quite young with cherry and vanilla nose. Highly oaked with cherry cola and blueberry notes. Some evident of forest notes and some nice acidity. Wonderful lingering finish. Secondary flavors have not developed to the point that they are adding that extra depth to the wine, but they probably will. High quality and potential for improvement.

The last time I had this wine, it seemed tight as a drum. Forward ahead six months or so, the wine seems to have softened up some but it also reflects a bit simple. Some forward fruit, currant and mocha. Just seemed to be more one dimensioned.

Am a big Justin fan . . . but just couldn't understand this wine. Even with decanting & air time found it still tight & backward. Even with all the complexity & fruit wanting to hit my back palate, just couldn't quite get it there. Shame. Will revisit it again in 12-18 mos.
Revisited this wine mid 8/2011. Started to show more complexity, better integration, greater fruit richness w/out intensity. Still needed a goo 60-90 min to open right, but was much more enjoyable this time around. Looks like I'll be sitting on the botles I have left for a while longer. :-)
