Definitely getting better with more age. Still a bit fruit forward for my taste, but with enough texture to actually be enjoyable as a mid week wine. There's blue fruits, blackberry, cedar. The acidity is still quite bright, but mellowing. 2 bottle ago I thought this was a waste of effort, now I am intrigued to try again in 18 months or more.

This bottle was far better than the previous. Still suffers from too much fruit, but in this bottle it was more in balance with the tannin and acidity. It's a decent drink though overall it lacks the finesse of a great wine. Mid week quaffing I think.

Licorice and luscious dark rich berries fill the mouth. The only knock on this wine being the slight vanilla and velvety tannins don't add the balance required..

Not a great wine. Lots of fruit which frankly overwhelms the rest of the package. There is a bit of structure but it is hidden under the dominance of the fruit. So many better wines around that this.

Licorice allsorts, ripe plum, prunes, raisins on the palate. Big bodied and very rich. Lots of spicy American oak, but the fruit copes well enough. You have to be a fan of the style to appreciate this.
Excellent Heathcote Shiraz. Ben Riggs certainly knows how to work with shiraz grapes. Lovely full fruit flavour, a good does of vanilla and not too syrupy or cooked. Nice mild spice character and enough tannins holding the wine together. Great drinking right now.
