Quite mature and fat nose with yellow fruits, honey, wax some tropical notes and very lovely, balanced petrol tone. A nice nose. Full-bodied, off-dry, fruity palate with honey, pineapple, wax and (surprisingly) some dark chocolate. Nice acidity, some grip and quite harmonius in the mouth. On the right side of my petroleum tolerance - it sneaks in the shadows. Main objection is some lack of acidity and a little clumsiness. Drinks splendid now, if you like petrol on your Riesling, keep for a few more years.

Beautiful wine; brilliant yellow colour. Forward lemon, honey, tangerine with white flowers and just a touch of petrol; 24 hours later even more forward and complex. Palate is intense and focussed; great acidity to match the notable sweetness. Still a youngster. Easy another 3 to 5 years to peak.

Light golden color, but no sign of oxidation; Pretty nose of faint white flowers and honeysuckle, then lovely, medium depth, steely fruit, excellent acidity, turning crisp and dry on the finish. A very enjoyable bottle, a bit straightforward and missing a little length on the finish, but a strong showing. Barely showing its age after a decade, could go another decade at least.
24 hours later: holding beautifully, not much change, though the intensity and length of finish have gone up half a notch. A really nice bottle.

Really impressive wine. Marvellous bouquet. Rich, mouth-filling and a wonderful silky texture. Extraordinary length with charming after-notes of honey and spices.

Z-H Night: Slightly toasty, delicately spiced nose with some amount of butterscotch/caramel. Slightly sweeter and more acidic than the Hauserer. Nice florality, vanilla, lemon-lime fruit carry and impressive finish.

WineFanatic Riesling Offline (Vancouver, BC): Tasted blind – medium yellow in colour, slightly deeper than the previous wine. At this point in the evening note taking took a backseat to the conversations going on at the table so my notes are pretty basic. Mainly petrol nose with some lighter fruit notes. Very dry and tart. Slightly bitter finish. Seems slighty austere after following all the German wines. Excellent.

Indice 2 Still quite a pale straw color. Nose of crushed rocks, lemon and lime, slight petrol. On the palate some minerals, petrol, lemon cream, apples. Great acidity and a long complex finish, wow! This is an excellent bottle of wine.

Fairly expressive, focused aromatics of light petrol, citrus and green apple. Still very youthful. On the palate, terrific depth, focus and balance, with excellent acidity. Nice freshness. Minerals, apple and citrus fruit, as well as some petrol. Rated a "Indice 2" by Olivier Humbrecht. For me this is a exactly what I'm hoping for when I crack a bottle of Alsace Riesling. Very impressive.

Fruity, unctuous and consequently seeming a bit sweet (in an attractive way) In my recollection very similar in style to the 2001. Have to taste the two against each other. Wonderful and reliable wine.

Beautifully balanced elegant Riesling. Lemon, honey, minerals and petrol. Aftertaste that went on forever. A treat with Caesar salad.
