Kept ignoring this bottle thinking it was past its prime, opened it tonight and was pleasantly surprised. Very nice deep colour and strong finish. For $14 it is worth every penny. The cork was dry and brittle despite being stored on it's side for almost 8 years.
The wine looks garnet coloured. The legs are slow. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It smells like petrol, forest floor and toast. The body is medium/full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long.

A lot going on with this wine. ... Really like the deep fruit/cherry licorice and raspberry nose. ... Odd palate of oranges and rubber but interesting. ... Giggs noted graphite. Overall very enjoyable.

Tammy's birthday (Jordyn's home, Lexington, KY): Spicy, toasted wood, mocha, wild black raspberry nose. Loamy palate leads with black currants, continuing to a juicy, ripe raspberry midpalate. Drinking well at the moment.

Rich, toasty nose, heavily oaked, but balanced beautifully against sweet florals and dark currant and raspberry. Palate is similarly concentrated, juicy, very spicy, lots of loam, raspberry, black fruits. Opens up nicely in the decanter. 90+
