Flower day - decanted off a small amount of sediment and then put back into cleaned bottle. Dark garnet core out to a lighter garnet edge. Nose of savoury herbs (mostly rosemary with some oregano) along with dark fruit, a bit of bottle stink and some cabbage (uh oh!) - leaving it in the glass for a bit before tasting it.

This acustic entry level wine aged beautiful. Dark fruit, some hints of sices like licorice, a fresh acidity and good balance. Much better than i expected after 13 years.

From 75cl. Don't think this has improved; 2007 was always a relatively soft Acustic and I prefered it in its first flush of vibrant fruit. Now a bit shapeless. (85-)86

From 75cl. This badly needed an hour in the decanter, during which it shed its unappealing rough tannic carapace and emerged a bit softer than I remember from last time, but with the same distinctive bright cherry note. A lovely drink, but I think I prefered it when it was still in its first flush of youth. 88P

Bright cherry scent and entry, juicy, lovely fruit sweetness yielding to ever-so-slightly squeaky tannins on the mid-palate and persisting on to a surprisingly long, juicy moreish finish. Isn't this what really good Beaujolais is supposed to taste like (and alas so seldom does)? Move over Gamay, there are other grapes in town. This is a bottle which just screams: DRINK ME. So we did, with great pleasure. 89P

Dramatic blue-violet-purple colour; penetrating iron-filings/fresh blood scent and entry, very fresh, primary fruit reminiscent of slightly underripe blackberries; squeaky tannins on the mid-palate. One hell of a good wine; if it gains a little more depth this will be a 90 pointer. 89P(+)

A touch riper than the 2006. A bit more character than a new world grenache, but the sugared tones of the fruit were a bit too much for me. Still my grenache blend of choice, just not this vintage.

Deep purple, looking still very young, causes a very good impression on the nose, good intensity, particularly spices, ripe red fruit, on the palate, acidity in high levels, tannins very present but of good quality, this wine will last for many years still. The body is a little light for the style, and after the impression on the nose one would be expecting more sensations on the palate, but nonetheless is a very good wine, well balanced and can be appreciated alone, with no food.

Red and black berries, a dollop of spices, a hint of coffee, good acidity and not much more... well made, fruity wine with some backbone, still no hint of oxidation on the third day... certainly a good qpr.

Decent. Better after an hour decant. Fresh berry. Beaujolais-esk if that makes sense

Wine Education Service - The New Spain (LSE): Perfumed, distinctive, light fruit.
Fruity, pine forest notes, very soft tannins, sweet feel.

Smoke and spicy berry on the nose. Cherry cough syrup with a hint of menthol. One dimensional but enjoyable.
