Nice bottle for some Sweet 16 time. Sweet cherries and a little smoke on the nose. Medium bodied, cherries, tobacco, and some tannins hanging on. Light finish. Very pleasant.

Medium-to-deep ruby with red rim. Clean nose, showing moderately intense aromas of red cherries, underbrush and roasted herbs. Medium-to-full-bodied on the palate, with low-to-medium acidity, medium but slightly coarse tannins and flavors similar to the nose. The middle is full and the finish is medium in length, albeit somewhat coarse and hot. Rustic, but quite nice. This is a wine which will likely benefit from short-term cellaring. Drink 1/12-12/15.

Tasted at "The Nose" wine bar in Pasadena, CA. The Gigondas was the star of the evening, eclipsing the CDR Villages, Condrieu and Chateauneuf wines. The 2007, even recently opened, was a well balanced GSM, capable of for some aging, but drinkable now.

Strong nose of ripe dark fruit comes wafting out of the glass. Palate has more dark fruit, leather, some tea leaves, a bit tannic. Tannins and fruit linger on the finish.

A bit more evolved and complete compared to the one I had last year. Very well balanced, weighty, nice acidity and spice on the finish.

Very nicely spiced, medium to light weight, and nice aromatics once it opened up and warmed up a bit.

Colin Joya -- Nice and fresh, good food wine, fruit and minerality there. Not hugely complex but a great sub-$20 value.

John's Jambalaya -- good value Gigondas, bright and spicy yet loaded with ultra ripe fruit.
