  • Hazy notes from last night. We started off with this wine. Light in colour and not too much on the nose - some apple and oak notes. Not a lot of concentration on this light to medium bodied wine, and little intensity too. Some reasonable and typical fruit and oak notes on the palate, but rather dilute and boring. Not good QPR (B).

  • Tasty. I was never thrilled about this on a previous tasting however age has shown that the apple-stonefruit-flower has really meshed into the oak and acid components nicely. Elegant. Drink now.

  • Cinnamon and apples on the nose. The palate showed nice acidity but the fruit wasn't quite ample enough. Overall a good effort but not worth the price for me to buy again.

  • Somewhat inexpressive at the moment, but over time, reveals aromatic notes of white flowers, apple, and vanilla ice cream (yum!). The palate is somewhat simpler, consisting of spiced apples, a touch of limestone minerality and a finish of buttered popcorn. The key to this wine is integration; the oak is not overdone, the fruit is not over-the-top, and the acidity is just high enough to provide structure for further bottle age. Final impression: a good wine, but perhaps not worthy of the $35 price tag. Kudos, however, to Thomas Bachelder, who shows off his winemaking chops by demonstrating that he will always produce the best possible wine from each vintage and vineyard.

  • Yellow gold; floral, butter, lemons, minerals; butterscotch, pineapple, minerally, good balance, good acidity, medium body, lingering finish.
Buttery, tropical fruit notes were not overwhelming but balanced with the minerality. Bold enough for lobster yet subtle enough for leaner flavours.
