Despite a bad cork, and the requisite straining, this wine has held up well. Fragrant. A mix of black, blue and red fruit, dusty chocolate, herbs, spice and earth. Good length and intensity. Glad I found this at my local shop.

A great wine. Soft mouthfeel, a bit of the tannins, some perfuminess from the franc and a dark, forebodingness contributed by the verdot. An very good value that still has some time on it.

Traditional Bordeaux style. Tasted without food - which was a bad idea. Really needs to be paired with the right meal. Pork Tenderloin, Grilled beef, etc.

Restaurant purchase. Was very surprised by this wine. The color was very light with almost an orange hue. As there is 12% Petit Verdot included in the blend, expected a bit darker wine. Nose of smoked meat really dominated for the first hour. This gradually turned over to more of a jalapeño aroma. Sweet cherries on the palate. Although this was a solid wine, it just didn't have the depth of mouthfeel as Ben's other wines. The finish was just a little too rough. However, at the price point would definitely purchase again.

1 hour open: Nice nose on the lite side with red fruit elements. Floral elements some spice. This almost smells like an older wine. Palate starts out with lots of red fruit, cherry, raspberry, it's not a dark wine in any way. Very pleasant finish that stayed on the red fruit side though the tannins are definitely there and linger nicely. Not what I expected but very nice for what it is. Would buy again.

Opened for 30 min before first pour, no decant though. Nice nose, able to smell it from 5 feet away. Red fruit, spice, pepper. Tasty blend, with lighter tannins than I was expecting.

taste: good medium feel with really good tones of red fruits, red cherries and a good bit of red currants. Hi-toned, but again, seems to be lacking a bit of depth that would make it extra exciting
overall: an early drinker with a good red fruit base. This comes off as a rather early drinker as it lacks depth and tannins to really have it age to really smooth it out and have it become something real fun. As is, its a real enjoyable wine for drinking right now

Decanted 1 hr. Higher than normal percentage of merlot for this blend 57%, followed by 18% cab, 13% cab franc and 12% petit verdot. Nervy, high toned pitches of black raspberry on the nose paired with the floral top note that I often associate with this producer. Easily the most structured Coda I’ve come across to date, as the smoky plum flavors carry an almost resiny quality that had me thinking of stem inclusion, though I don’t think is actually the case. Mid palate sees the emergence of a saline quality, a distinct green olive trait that carries to the firm, tannic, and somewhat abrupt finish. Time should eventually round this into form, but I see no reason not to enjoy these today, all the more so for the asking price of $24.

We really enjoyed the red fruits. Not very complex or age-worthy but fun to drink nonetheless.

Washington Wine Commision tasting (Rooftop Terrace, Millenium Park, Chicago IL): nose: a real nice and lovely hi-toned nose with tones of reed fruits, red currants, red cherries and a touch of red florals. While it has good complexity, it seems to be lacking depth that would really add an extra dimension to it
