Bottle filled to mid shoulder level. Cork soaked through - removed with durand. Colour - pale sandy red. On the nose - an initial old-bottle mustiness that blows off, underneath that there’s a bit of damp charred wood, some earth. Palate - tannins are all gone but there’s still some acid there, some fruit. A glass is fascinating to contemplate and the rest makes for a pretty nice sauce.
