  • They're blowing this out on sale in the tasting room. It's obviously headed downhill so drink now if you purchase or own. Dark gold color and looking oxidized. Nose has a hint of oxidation and a nuttiness to it. Low acidity, this is the problem. Toasty finish with caramel

  • If you have this, drink up. There were some good, intense flavors (pineapple, stone fruits) along with lifting acidity but it seemed like the components of this wine were diverging. Flavorful, yes. Harmonious, no.

  • What a treat. Thank you k&l. Full bodied fruity nose (pineapple, citrus, peach). Body was medium to full with pineapple and stone fruit flavors. It has some nice acidic bite to it along with some creaminess (partial malolactic fermentation?). I think this wine would be good to sneak into a white burgundy tasting.

  • Deep tones of ripe tropical fruit and golden apples appear immediately on the nose. A little more exploration reveals tones of butter and caramel that combine with the fruit to create an almost baked or sautéed quality. A very faint mineral quality and a hint of lime leaves linger in the background, giving this wine an interesting multi-dimensional depth.

Round and ripe on the palate, this wine shows an impressive balance of apple and pineapple tones combining beautifully with tones of cream and crushed stone. Although this is a very enjoyable wine now, it would benefit from a few more years in the cellar. This is a big wine that is built to last, and its intriguing blend of ripe fruit and creaminess will only continue to get better with age.

  • Danny's Solvang Trip; 9/24/2010-9/29/2010 (Slovang): very light nose wiht neutral oak and minerality intergrated with green melon. Plenty of acidity and a crisp finish.
