- Purple color and aromas of violet and black pepper. It's somewhat balanced and has flavours of violet and black pepper with a medium/full body. Juicy texture with a long finish.

An amazing bottle of wine. Not the over the top alcohol and fruit steroid type zin but a great nose, excellent fruit, and long finish. A little old world mixed with a powerful zin.

This bottle is quite a bit different than the one I had back in May 2010. Even though my rating comes out to the same, the qualities are quite different. The color is purple, with a little red. The nose showcases wild berries, green shrubbery, alcohol and vanilla. Heat from the alcohol is noticeable on the palate. The palate reveals sweet fruit, peppery spice, with a hint of orange liqueur and cherry liqueur, but is dry overall. This wine is viscous and chewy, with thick legs. The acidity is average and the tannins are above average in intensity. The balance improves even further with aeration as some of the alcohol dissipates, leading me to think that it would probably benefit from a couple of years of further aging. This wine is by no means a fruit bomb, but I just can't see how I thought it was "Burgundian" seven months ago. It would be interesting to try it again.

This wine is big and bulky but supremely balanced. Moderate spice and red fruit play of one another ending with a medium finish. A little tightly wound but I can see the future and it is bright indeed.

Dark black fruit, vanilla, with a floral component. 14.7% in alcohol but not very noticeable. Complex, with nice acidity and balance. Dare I say Bugundian in style?

Exectly what I look for in a Zinfandel... Lots of black pepper, rich dark fruits, and firm tannins. At this price, it's my new benchmark California zin.

Excellent. Enjoyed it for Valentines Day. Great nose. Medium to full body. Flavors of currants, licorice, berries, and plums. A hint of tobacco or pepper.

This wine is velvety smooth. Soft fruit that melts across your tongue with a slight acid finish.

A classic example of a well aged Zin. Peppery, lingering aftertaste. A wonderful wine. I'd give it a 90 point score easily.

Really nice, balanced Zin. Lots of dark fruit, but definite spice and pepper. Great alone and with food.
