13 years old and there are still ample tannins present. I have not really been a fan of 2016’s but this was pretty darn good. Enjoyed this with friends and a prime rib dinner. Home run! We impressed some very wine savvy folks. This still has at least another 5 years left.

Drank with the leftover Prime Rib dinner that we had on Christmas day. Firm in body and a deep purple in color. After decanting for an hour this wine opened up and gave us a big cab with blackberry and leather on the nose. The blackberry is prominent at first taste along with tea, eucalyptus with a dust and forest floor finish.
Excellent with the Prime Rib and beef gravy. It still has plenty of cellar life in front of it with ample tannins present.

Drank with a great steak dinner at Eddie Merlot's. Color was a deep ruby red. Full bodied with black cherry, eucalyptus and Rhubarb. Taste of black cherry, cedar with a tannic mushroom finish. Slightly hot. Needs food or dark chocolate to overcome the tannic alcohol finish.
Drink next in 2018 or later.

Not so great for me as it has a typical 2006 vintage sharp tannic structure that ruins the finish for me. The fruit is nice and deep and nicely dry. Texture is very nice with good viscosity but those edgy tannins... I'll leave this one alone for another few years and see if it comes together.

Popped and poured. Aromas of sweet currant and cherry. Flavors of cherry, mushroom and a slight green component. This is slightly sweet for my taste and has huge fruit upfront. Overall a nice wine if not out of balance with the huge, sweet fruit.

Tasted at the winery tasting room in Rutherford. I have to agree with their published tasting notes, this Cabernet has a "round, soft entry" All their wines tend to exhibit a style that is best described as a soft, elegant, and approachable lightness. Very close to a textbook Cabernet with cassis, tobacco, and tar behind the dark cherry and raspberry fruit. Between medium and full bodied. Balanced. Elegant, not powerful. There is plenty of well integrated oak that will help this wine age gracefully.

Just keeps on getting better! Great wine to accompany the Ribeye with peppercorn rub that I grilled up for dinner.

Muted fruits and complex tannins/minerals -- past its nice balance of fruit, tannins, and minerals but still a nice cab
