Ripe and quite warm fruit. Decent amount of oak still present on the nose. Alcohol a bit too noticable as well. With that said, it's still a decent bottle of wine.

Deep dark center, red rim with some signs of age. Meaty black cherries, balsam, plums and blueberries, a little cooked, some jasmine, crushed stems. Dry, a bit reserved still, plums and stewed cherries, stones, good acidity, lower tannins, good length. Still seems like this needs 2 more years. Probably has the fruit to last.

Palate: black fruit under oak, red licorice, spicy, cherry, smoky
Palate: delicious, strawberry, black cherry, charred wood, silky, noticeable alcohol, finish tastes like iron. Bigger than I would expect a pinot noir to be.

Medium to full-bodied, nice red fruit, but not overwhelming amount. Plums jump out of the glass. A big, bold mouthful, viscous. Perfectly balanced. No particular items were spectacular, but the whole package put together was wonderful.

Lots of perfume on the nose and a hint of earth. Taste was big, bold, and ripe red fruit, just a total mouthful of it. Soft tannins. I have to say that when I first drank it I found it very seductive, but the more I drank, I found it a little bit exhausting. A hair too much fruit for my taste, but that is more of just a style thing.

I will add to beezer6's note by saying that this needs much more than a pop and pour as we did last night. It only started showing at the end of the bottle and then it was almost the wine as described by Beezer6.

Pinot Days 2009 (Navy Pier - Chicago, IL): One of the best wines of the day. This is the bottling that originally turned me onto Morgan Chard and Pinot. Awesome super funky earth components with plush ripe perfume of red strawberries and raspberries. Palate is expansive and shows lots of depth. Serious ageing potential but it's absolutely drinkable now as well.

Bigger and bolder than expected. Drinking well now, but will last a few more years.
