Terroir-istes International - France, Burgundy, Chambolle Musigny (Bishopscourt): (Tasted Blind): Light+ crimson to browning rim. A shy nose that slowly reveals savoury, spicy notes (cloves into orange). Tertiary but not too evolved. A gentle entry, good intensity of flavours with noted savoury qualities. A powdery texture with fairly crisp acidity that runs to granular tannins. As it opens the wine show tarry qualities, iron oxide and the savoury notes increase. Whilst a long finish, the acid become a little overwhelming and tannins feel drier and more aggressive.

Tasted this last nite, along with 20 or so other Burgundy and this stands out in my memory. Very fragrant, and powerful. Terrrific wine that is drinking fairly well today.

Cambridge University Wine Society Annual Dinner with Maison Joseph Drouhin (Clare Hall, University of Cambridge): Rich nose, like a reduction of berries, cherries and plums. Much more dense palate than the Chorey-Les-Beaune, very good acid-tannin-fruit balance, will go on for a while. Mouthcoating feel, more cherry and soft plum with smooth, rich oak and high acid. I got a little carried away here as I'd had quite a bit to drink so may have slightly overscored this, but it's really good! 91-92 points.

Somewhat ripe, yes, but backed by a gentle and refined texture. Cherries, some florals, and a coolness in the mouth.

San Diego WineSpectator.com Offline al tartufo, 1/18/2020 (Solare Restaurant, Liberty Station, Point Loma, San Diego CA): Clear blood ruby color. Beautiful bouquet of red cherries, raspberries, horse sweat, musk, red soil. Similar on the palate, seamless, medium body, balanced, traditional Old World style with terroir and animal quality. Improved with air. Very nice.
