This wine has reached a peak, still big and shockingly bright at 10yrs, but the big jam flavor has subdued, very nice acidity, great peppery finish. wish I had more.

Muted red fruit with some spices. While tannins are relatively well integrated, this wine is showing quite a bit of alcohol. Medium legs and ruby to dark ruby color. Decent, but not great.

Bright red fruit and herb on the nose. Needed to decant for an hour to allow the true flavors to come out as the first sip out of the bottle was quite hot and Tight. An hour later outstanding.

Nearly opaque violet color with kirsch, vanilla spice, and a hint of violet aromas. On the palate, it's fruity with sweet soft tannins, surprisingly good acidity. It's medium-bodied with black cherry, blackberry, cassis, vanilla spice and a hint of chocolate flavors Medium-long finish 15.3% abv

decanted 20 minutes Christmas night. Sweet, fruity bouquet. still a few tannins but they still take back seat to the sugary fruit. Fruit bomb? yes. Thick and sweet? yes? Perfectly balanced Zin? No, but still a great wine if you like big zin's and classic Rosenblums.

This a big fruit bomb which from rock pile, I was hoping for more terroir. Does have some tannin and structure but most if that is steam rolled by over Oakes candied fruit. Almost like a late harvest.

Not consistent with previous bottles, very disappointing. Light red brick colored, weak tannins, slightly sweet. Flat and flabby. Bottle irregularity or poor storage by retailer to blame.

Deep garnet color with lifted liqueur like aromas of dark fruits, chocolate and spices. On the plate it's full-bodied, fruit forward, and smooth, but a bit angular and smooth with black cherry, blackberry, vanilla and spice favors with a long finish. 15.1% alcohol.

Popped and poured. Blueberry pie filling, raspberry, caramel, vanilla Better with a little air. Bit of structure on the finish but hardly tannic. Overall, a voluptuous, silky, fruity wine. Nice pairing with BBQ. Fine now, but I plan on saving my last two for a few years.

Notes of sweet spice, zesty berry and chocolate. Interesting and somewhat complex. Paired well with barbeque. It's big and forward, but it's Zinfandel. Well priced at Costco.

We had this with ribeye steaks on 2/19/11. It had a terrific, ripe bouquet of blackberry, cherry, licorice, pepper, sage, spice, vanilla and burnt toast aromas. The palate was rich, ripe, smooth and a little hot with flavors of blackberry, black cherry, raspberry, cocoa, licorice, pepper, vanilla and burnt toast. I didn’t find the alcohol obtrusive, but I can see where some would. My wife hated it.

Give Your Own Review (Farpointe Cellar): The nose is practically all pepper. Actually, it does have some blackberry, cherry, and vanilla, but the pepper is overpowering. The palate is rich and thick, with loads of pepper, like the nose. Underneath was blackberry, raspberry, and cherry. The finish had vanilla and spice.

Average nose, nothing special, medium bodied, but its huge acidity is matched by its robust flavors of cherries and blackberry. Nice pizza or BBQ rib wine. Exceptional Zinfandel.

nose: kind of unexciting, there is some red and black fruit accompanied by sweet caramel. nothing unusual, nothing unlikable. palate: very smooth, the alcohol isn't forceful to taste but manifests in the supple viscosity of the mouthfeel (in a pleasant way). Chocolatey flavors complement strong fruit and the /medmed-low acid well. Fine grained tannin that hides behind the fruit. A very nice cocktail. I can't see this pairing with food, but to drink on its own on a Saturday afternoon, this does just fine, thank you very much. Not terribly complex. Good buy for $22.

Executive Wine Seminars - 2007 Zinfandels (NY, NY): This finished in 2nd place. This was not my style of wine. It was pure velvet, lush and mouth coating. Nose is frangrant and pretty. no tannins or acid. creme brulee. maybe with some spicy barbecue other notes would come out. very well made.

Ripe, a blackberry-driven style, with spicy oak accents to its blackberry, plum skin, toast, and mocha flavors. Supple, medium bodied, and seamless on the palate with lingering, sweet black fruit flavors.

Purple/ruby red rim, lots of sweet ripe fruit. Brambly blackberry pie on the nose with a touch of heat. Silky mouthfeel, no tannins and a good balance with the alc/acidity. Not too complex, but tasty and easy drinking.
