Nice deep crimson color. Some meatiness and dark fruit on the nose. Very nice balance with medium body. Blueberry and orange peel. Medium/long finish. Very good qpr.

Yesterday morning I had toast with strawberry jam and butter. Then I had this wine in the evening. This is candy wine, but I won't slam it completely because it tastes much less fake than many comparable candy wines. Plus I can say this might pair well with some cream filled pastry desserts.

Poured through Vinturi ... We've had multiple vintages of this entry-level Barnard Griffin Syrah and have determined it needs to be drunk young. (The remains of an '06 case purchase isn't drinking well now at all.) This is our first '08 (opened accidentally before the last of the '06) and, while it lacks complexity and is a touch hot, it is clean, smooth and rich. Pretty much exactly what I originally remembered the '06 to be: a nice Wednesday night, value wine. Very nice with food and pleasant enough to drink alone. Good QPR at >$15/bottle.

absolutely fantastic value.... real Washington character... can't be beat for the $11-13 price - tastes more like $20-25 bucks. Great fruit, structure, class - not huge extract or alcohol.

An hour in the decanter rounded her out a bit. Nice floral notes, nice cherry flavor. Really a very good wine, especially for the $11 price. I'd like to taste it again in a few years.

This is what I call jammy! Like drinking strawberry preserves. Not a style I enjoy, but I know others do.
